SWEET ADDITION….

SWEET ADDITION….

Been a while since I add anything into the tank.

So took this home from my LFS last night. Been in quarantine for 6 weeks in their shop and already eating.

Actually they have 2 Blue face in quarantine but they just sold off the juv blue face the day before yesterday :mad2: Anyway, still pretty please with the Blueface angel as I was waiting for quite a bit for a healthy specimen and hopefully it will leave my SPS alone…. keeping my fingers cross here!

This is the 2nd time trying em. Lost my previous Regal to ich and hopefully this one will make it. Looks fat and healthy too but was told still very shy in the quarantine tank! Hope he can cope with my greedy fishes during feeding time.

Also took back these anthias as well….

Yellow Spotted Anthias - Odontanthias borbonius

I have seen a couple of people in RC having it but never realize how expensive they were!! They are deep-ware species so hopefully they can learn to adapt to our tank temperature and water pressure.

Anyone out there want to share any experience?? I remember Richard had one?? Richard, are you reading this?? Any word of advice?

One-Stripe Anthias - Pseudanthias fasciatus

This 2nd one I’ve not seen anywhere…. I thin k it’s a Anthias Fasciatus?? Real beauty!!

Too bad they only have one each :rolleye1: but beautiful additions never or less to my Anthias collection….

So far my Anthias collection consist of the following:
- Resplendent Anthias x 3
- Truncatus Anthias x 3
- Bartlett's Anthias x 4
- Yellow Spotted Anthias x 1
- One-Stripe Anthias x 1

Love em anthias….I’m looking at adding Sunburst Anthias and Square Anthias into the collection as well in the future. They anthias brings so much life into the tank!

Nice ones you got!
I hope the angels leave your SPS alone... i´ve never seen this yellow-spotted anthias and it was love at first sight! What a wonderfull fish!
Have you ever considered adding a few Pseudanthias squamipinnis? I really think they´re the most beautyfull anthias..

Thanks Felipe - I prefer the Sunburst Anthais over Lyretail Anthias as they are more peaceful compare to a Lyretail as I heard they can be quite territorial, especially since I have a mixture of Anthias.

Yeah the Yellow-spotted is love at first sight for me too but damn expensive!! They are deep water species coming from a depth of 100m and sometimes making them difficult to acclimatized into our tank conditions. I'm hoping more people will share experience with them here in RC.

I LOVE that yellow-spotted anthias!!!

Ed is envious of your angel, he wants to put a blue face angel in our new system also, I asked him to wait and see how you do with yours first!

Best of luck with your new babies!

Great Setup!
Fine aquascaping!
Excelente job!

What about the 72” I Series Solaris 20K LED Illumination System?

Are they worth?
It's a lot os money to spend it better worth...

I just saw the Redstripe Anthias when I was in Columbus, which was a new one to me. I really like the look of it.

Congrats on your new fish. However, I would recommend that you too do your own quarantine of new arrivals rather than relying on the LFS to do it properly for you. There's nothing wrong with being extra cautious, as this will protect your current fish from new arrivals bearing gifts.

Very nice Ed. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I came really close to getting a regal yesterday. It was a 4-5" specimen, but it also had a small circle aberation; it was a beaut.

Thanks Sandy - yeah ask d to hold on first as I'm also not too sure about the Blueface as this is the first time for me - but a really beauty for sure :D She has settle in well and playing nicely with the boys. Initially when she first got int he tank, my Majestic Angel didn't give her a very warm welcome but last night things have quite down and she is out swimming gracefully checking out the tank...

Thanks Marc - good point! Yeah I need to stop being lazy and do my own quarantine. So far my LFS is fine as they have a separate 180g system just for quarantine of the more expensive fishes (which they also sell at a higher price). I usually drop by the LFS every week or two and always keep an eye on them to make sure all's fine thou. :D

Thanks - regal still a little shy. Not sure if mine is from the Red Sea?? Anyone knows how to tell the difference?
