Just to respond to wmilas' take on MH ... the natural glitter lines?
Seriously, I've got a 10'ter with MH over it and it doesn't need any supplementation from T5's. Stunning colour from 3 x 250W x 12,000k Reeflux driven by Lumatek digital ballasts (made in GB) and 1 x 400W x 14,000k 'elCheapo' driven by a Coralvue dimmable ballast all in LumenMax 20" reflectors. I do have 4 x 54W T5 ProBlue's driven by an IceCap 660 for early and late lighting effects but it has no impact on the MH colour.
In fact yesterday, a true blue T5 reefer mate came over to pick up some sps frags and was so stunned by the lighting colour that I couldn't get rid of him
Really, its six of one and half a dozen of the other with lighting.

Lighting is a complex and opinionated subject. It's like asking 6 engineers the same question and you get six different answers. Same with reefers. I have said before that LEDs are definitely the way of the future -- there'll be posts here on RC in ten years titled 'Who's still using MH fixtures'. There's a lot of debate as to whether LEDs and the future have met each other yet. I think they're close but too darned expensive.
And the debate goes on. :lol:
At least I made a decision on my tank -- maybe that will keep WaterKeeper off my back ..... for a while anyway.

Well, Happy New Year :celeb1: everyone. I hope for 2009 you all have invested in pork belly futures. I know some invest in gold but if the world economy collapses this year I can eat bacon but not gold.
