Expert Thoughts on this Magnifica

I am planning on purchasing this Mag from a fellow reefer. He has had it for 6mos. and stayed put on the glass as shown. It is brown base with yellowish tint on tentacles. My only concern is how large the mouth is and the bareness around it. He has been feeding silversides. it is approx. 7-8" fully expanded.

Does it look like a healthy specimen?
Will the tentacles become more vibrant in color?
Does anyone have one with these colors they can post?

thanks in advance

I agree, not happy. But if they have been feeding silversides, depending on how large the piece of food they were feeding can cause the mouth to become enlarged (if the food is not the correct size). This can be repaired, but it's a bit of a gamble

Frankly I cannot really offer anything useful from the picture. Silversides are generally not recommended as food for mags (for a number of reasons).

If he's had it 6 months, it doesn't have a bacterial infection most likely. I would buy it if I wanted it and take good care of it and it will likely start looking much better.

This....

If he has had it for 6 months, the only way it has a bacterial infection is if he just gave it one with silversides.

The anemone is not happy and will not live much longer in your friends tank.
Something is bothering it.

When you put it in your tank, do not allow clowns near it for several months, they will steal food from it, and in its weakened condition it may not survive the energy waste from trying to eat, and having food stolen from it.

Feed it small amounts of food. Start with Mysis/Mysid shrimp. Don't over do it.

I think this anemone can be saved.
