They are eating a little but not much. Spitting some out, eating some. At least they are getting some in them. My males stripes are not as dark and defined as I though they would be. Is he stressed, changing back to female, or still changing to male?

IMO, they seem to be small and young. Once they settle in he will color up as he grow.

I ordered a trio of 1 large male and 2 large females from LA since the trio in DD sold before I could complete the order. Will it make a difference getting them this way versus having been housed together(assuming the DD are housed together)?

Should be alright, but personally I would have ordered smaller females...

The only issue you may run into depending on your tank size and the size of the females compared to the male is they may play the merry go round with deciding who is going to be the Alpha if you will and stay or turn male

I requested the largest male, which go up to 5" and the largest females range from Large: 2-1/4" to 3-1/2.

I could still switch to the Medium Females: 1-1/2" to 2-1/4".

I'm still getting the large male, just changed the size of the females. How did you end up with four when you had three to begin with

Question for the Genicanthus gurus...

Is a 4 foot tank, (48x24x24), too small for a pair of Bellus Angels?

I have bellus and watanabei females in my 80g rimless 24x48x16 and they are fine. Both are in the 4.5" range, plump and healthy.

I got them from someone shutting their tank down...........they haven't grown in size from the time I have gotten them & I doubt they will. They have been together for 2+ years.

The angels are housed with smaller dither fish.......anthias, damsel, and a firefish.

I don't see any issue in a light to moderate stocked tank, if you're going to get them small.........I wouldn't buy a large pair.

What are your thoughts on keeping multiple species? I think I want to go bellus and spot. Should I get one of each? Or do a pair of each? Tank is 5ft x 18x 26.
