hehe I spotted it in the pics above Rogger. I can pick out the fish I am looking for for my tank! when I was looking at all the amazing pics of your tank I didnt see the Tinkeri....Do you still have it? I would love to try a Mitratus but havent seen them around lately.

THx pretty soon I'll be picking most if not all my critters and then some. I just got a frag pack from hillary and will c how things go.

I thought you said you were going to use a denitrator (aquaripure)- but I see a midwestern and are you running sulfur in it?

Why the change? - I have a midwestern I retired because could not tolerate the clogging (which by now maybe they have a solution)

I went with a sulphur mainly bc of space the quaripure unit worked very well for me but did not fit the design of my new system.

All denitrators tend to clog when they are runned at low drip rates and they do need maintenance.

Yes there's sukphur in there nd has been running since day one a week or so at one drop per second currently at a slow drip to avoid smell as well as possibly to add some extra calcium to my systema hth

Manny
So far what is your impression of the VorTech pumps?
Well Lulio they serve a purpose IMO in combination with my Tunzes def create that random flow that we are always looking for in an SPS environment. I had turned my Tunzes off and two of this pumps are not enuff for my tank.

In general they are very well made and provide a unidirectional flow that's wider than the tunzes. All in all great product to compliment my existing PH'S.

I wouldn't doubt that them Germans are up to something to compete with them.;)

Finally got around to picking up my frag tank- hopefully during the week or weekend will be doing some plumming and the system will be complete. In the future skin and done.

As a reference the frag tank is to the left of my tank.

How come you went with acrylic and not glass?

Josh just b/c it was easier to work with and the tank is not gonna be seen from the sides- just from top and no issues regarding cleaning the tank.

Those are he main reasons.

Well

Well

The frag tank is up and some babies are in there-the cleaning crew was quick at work once the frags came in, I only suspect they will be even better once they are fasting for a long time.

This was one of my goals on this build to create a frag tank with a cleaning crew to minimize exposure to dips for pests(they r gonna be dipped but not as long)

Camel shrimp will eat the coral if left with them though. So if your going to keep frags in there consistantly, I'd stick with the peppermints.

LMAO u know my frag tanks will not get camels .

The peps will do the trick- its just a matter of time.
I'm quite familiar with the camels shrimp theory.

Yup, Rogger is right. I read you want camel shrimp....not peppermint shrimp
Well yes and no since th camels will eat at the frags in the long term and the peps will not.

I've had this debate many times and have seen peps do the trick to what extent remains to be seen.

No food equals cleaning.
