gasman's059 new build!

Manny, is there a big difference with the LEDs? I have 2 400w XM 10Ks with two 48" Super ACtinics and looking to do the LEDs for more blue. My tank is 30" high though. What do you think?

NO- only for moonlight and dusk/dawn effects.
If u want more blue then increase your kelvins in your lamps.

Tony nice to c u around this local foums.
My tank is double eurobraced thus having a built in lip for aplications such as that or a fishnet for jumpers.
They are waterproof and glued to the glass inns inside of the brace.

There's plenty out there LEDs. eBay usually has them very very cheap from china

can you post a picture of your LED's? Im thinking about ordering some but Im afraid that some of them may not be strong enough to penetrate the water surface.. I've tried various LED's 1/2w and under (including a DJ light strip with over 300 led's) and it didnt even break through the surface

Manny, thanks for sharing the pictures! I'm gonna live vicariously through other people's tank pictures for a while now. After my tank crash, I've got a few pocillapora and kenya trees left, and at least some beautiful fish. I'm just going to break the tank down over winter break and maybe get a nanocube for some SPS cuttings. I've heard that one of Rogger's buddies has a crazy nano, so there's still hope, but until then, I've got your pics :D The tank is really looking great..... Thanks so much again for sharing! The colors in those acros are nuts. I really love the fluorescence.

Erick don't hesitate to call me when you are in town and I will cut some frags for ya. There's plenty of hardy corals in my tank now as 90% of it is aquacultured and very resilient.

On a sad note I lost my 4 year old lokani colony thru an alk crash, but every frag I had cooking of it made it so now I will start nother colony from scratch.

Gotta love this hobby.

hey manny - how's the aquatronica treating you? any tips on maintenance or setup? i bought my system over a year ago and am just getting around to setting it up... i also heard that Will is not going to be selling it anymore. have you dealt with the new distributor?

Tony no issues whatsoever. So no longer distributes aquatronica but aquarium specialty is the new distributors.

Wow I didn't realize that Premium Aquatics picked up the ball on Aquatronica, but I knew that AO wasn't carrying them anymore. That's AWESOME. AO was good, but so small it was hard to deal with them. PA is big and well known, not to mention known as being some of the friendliest people in online order service (from what I've heard around here).

Manny, thank you kindly for your generosity. I don't think I'll be taking any frags for a while, but I sincerely appreciate the offer. Maybe over winter break when I'm home I'll stop by just to check out the tank.

Sorry to hear about the lokani. It really was great, but at least you've got frags left. Look at it as an opportunity to find a place in your tank where it'll be happier?

Skimmer update

Skimmer update

Just installed my new alpha cone 200 replacing my existing mini bk 200. I do believe that the chamber, volute and cone will certainly improve my skimming.

If it aint broke don't fix it! well I wnated a little more punch so there's no worries about feeding and so forth. Plus them cones look so sexy LOL

It will be running at the same height about 9-10 inches of constant water height.
