I am sure we are all waiting for the early review.

I wonder...do these change par over time like MH? Do you ever need to change the LED?

Manny
I give you lots of credit. It takes lots of guts to experiment on a beautiful tank like yours, and thank you because in the end we all benefit from your experience.

Well Lulio I've been looking at this particular units for the last several months and there's plenty of data that suggest they are as good as 400 watts MH's.

As far as payback there's about 2 years vs a metal halide system in terms of initial cost and operating costs.

Lulio here's the review from Sanjay.

Like everything its a matter of trial and error- there may be the need to use 2 more modules will c.

In an effort to document any siginificant changes from some new changes including this new fixture I took this pic about 2 months ago prior to:
1-eliminating a denitrator
2-starting to again dose lugols
3-Started Vertex biopellets
4-New LED fixture

I was not unhappy with current results but there's always room for improvement in this hobby. The Biopellets do work as advertised in fact IMO better than advertised.

The trick is to start slow and go slow like in every major change to an established tank.
The nutrients will be stripped out of the water column and some corals will not like it but all in all the end result IMO is well worth it.

Still under 3x 400 watts radium 20k on mini lumenbrights-galaxy e-ballasts.

I still think you had the MH mounted too low. The frags you sold me are doing awesome and they are place up on top of my rock work. No bleaching what so ever. But I am glad you didn't go with T5. If you were going to upgrade from MH the AI is the way to go. Mount them up already so I can see them. :)

im glad the frags are doing good.

As far as the MH's well debatable.

Manny I see some changes in your tank. I can say the biopellets are now the last miracle in tanks in Puerto Rico. I don't know if you know Efrain from Cabo Rojo. His tank has improved a lot with the biopellets. The colors are espectacular. I am hearing a lot of positive comments about them.

Check here some recent pictures.

You are "bravo" to change the Radiums for the Led's. I will follow your thread to see the results.

Luisgo thx for stopping by-- them biopellets are as good or better than advertised for sure.

Ill keep u posted on the LEDS but so far they are extremely impressive. The AI's are US made w/o patent problems and are IMO brighter than my 400 watters, YES they R
