What is the label on the skimmer body? Looks cool. Can you post more pics of that? Especially the cleaning mechanism! Is that a wet neck, spray down, or what? And did you eliminate the neck inside the cup, or is that just a bad angle? Is it made out of PVC, or is it filled with air? What's up with the open ended vertical line from the body to above the cup? What's powering it?

It is a RK2 body that I majorly modified. The clear PVC on the side is a water level indicator. The angle is bad, there is a neck in the skimmer head. There is a wet neck spay on the inside and outside of the neck. Salt water on the inside and fresh water on the outside to clean the neck inside and out and to clean the collection cup. I still need to plumb the drain from the skimmer head to the sink and the fresh water wet spray needs to be plumbed also. The skimmer has a Sequence Baracuda pump feeding it, and a Sequence Hammerheard that I moded with a needlewheel. Here is a picture of the skimmer in full action! MAJOR JUNK MACHINE!!!

I would love to see how you installed the SW wet neck. I have been contemplating this for some time. How do you feed that? Interesting way to determine water level. Sweet body though. Looks like you are feeding O3 into it too?

I have a small panworld pump that supplies water to the neck. I turn this on and off manually every day after I feed the mysis. This is when the foam gets knocked down and it is safer to clean the neck without if overflowing the skimmer cup. The outside of the cup (when I get it plumbed in) will automatically wash it down with fresh tap water once a day.

No, I am feeding my calcium reactor into the skimmer body. This helped control my tank pH. I have a fluctuation of 8.1 to 8.3 no that I did it. By having the Ca reactor feed into the skimmer bidy your are 100% assuring that all free CO2 is released, and not trapped in my tank; which will flucuate your pH a lot. So, I have a much more stable alk and pH now because of it...

hmmmm, very interesting. I don't have much fluctuation, but my probe is in the inbound sump, and my effluent is in my outbound sump. So by the time it gets to the probe, is well mixed. My pH swings from 8.16 to 8.30 between the day and night cycle right now, but that is something to think about as I ratchet up the dose. Seems to me that might add calcification to your skimmer pumps.

So it's not really a "wet neck" but a wash down system. I know wet necks can be difficult to install correctly. But it does save you the effort of having to pull it apart to clean the neck. When you get the chance, can you post a pic of how you built that? I could really use some visual tips. My skimmer actually skims a little better wehn the neck is dirty though, so I may be trying to fix something that ain't broke. But what else is new?

The pump is actually a prototype Hammerhead needlewheel from Sequence that Chris shipped out to me back in early September. It is still not 100% certain is Chris is going to go ahead and make this part of the Sequence line or not.

The "wet neck" is not a true wet neck as mentioned above, but just a saltwater washdown system. HTH!

As Jeremy said, it is a prototype Sequence needlewheel.

Any aggression between those two Angels. I have a Chrysurus a little larger than yours and was planning on adding other Angels to the mix.

No aggression between the angels, but a big tank helps! The only angel I ever had a problem with was a coral beauty. That thing was mean!!! :mad2:

No, the pump (needlewheel) is strong enough to pull it from 6 feet up. I have the skimmer ready to add another pump if I want to in the future.
