Hardest to keep SPS's

Just out of curiosity what would you guys say is the hardest to keep in captivity acropora species?
Please let me know why they are so hard to keep.
Is it perfect water parims?
Is it lighting?
Water flow needs?

In my experience--Hardest to keep color on:
A. Abrotanoides---they don't color back up as nicely in my tank....could be not enough light.

Hardest to keep alive---I don't know...usually sps do well, unless something is wrong with parems.

Most Difficult or just need a really mature system with tons and tons of flow= A. gemmifera, A. hyacinthus, A. cytherea, A. bufuricata, A. monticulosa, A. suharsonoi, A. loripes, A. rosaria, A. donei, A. efflorescens, A. solitaryensis, A. branchii, A. retusa, A. aculeus, A. caroliniana, A. clathrata, A. globiceps...."

There is one acro species I bought. As soon as I find out the name I will now which group it falls under.

To keep or to grow ? I have no problem keeping them ..... getting them to grow is a whole other story.

A. echinata is on the "medium" list.

My echinata is growing and my efflorescens positively glowing.

IME, Enchinata is rather easy to grow, considering the params (& of course lighting) are all in line!

The list provided is a good one! A. Aucleus did not work from me in my tank and eventually died off due to RTN!!! :sad2:

I agree with your list for the most part. I personally find a hard one for me to keep is A.hoeksemai.
A few other easier ones in my experience are A.valida, A.lovelli & A.loisettea.

Not that anybody has any, but A. palmata are far more touchy than any of their Indo-Pacific cousins. You look at them wrong, and they die on you.

Had a lime green Tortuosa in my biocube under 150 hqi. Growing fine.... THEN, it fell into my Ricordea.........dead!
