Hardware & firmware wish list

Your wishes will be noted! But that does not mean acted on! Only so much Mathias can do, there are a few things that will come clear in the months to come. Fish feeders for now is not one of them.

But who knows what the future brings in the world of GHL!

Here's another one, more important than the feeder. Any chance you will offer a leak detector? That's a must have!

Yes, I know but with my water sensors set to water change this negates their ability to function as leak sensors. Why can't it function as both? For example, it only works for a WC when the controller gives it the command to and for that alloted time to complete the WC, but work as a leak sensor when not in WC mode?

the max-sensor can also have the ATO-function but not the leakage function
to be honest: I have no idea how this could be achieved.

The eX has 3 level inputs, one of them could be used for the leakage sensor

Reminder in German

Reminder in German

After setting a reminder I noticed that the Reminder, "erinnerung", in my View II was in German. No big problem just FYI. Using firmware 3.08.

Thanks

Cant wait ordering mine tomorrow.

Since I dont have one yet I have a question. I plan on buying the ProfiLux View II also. Is this wireless or does it have to be hardwored to the unit to work ?

TIA

Was just wondering if it was built into the current firmware to have the ability to update other terminals with the current Profilux settings.

I usually program my Profilux via WLAN on my laptop while sitting infront of the tank, but my office computer has the old Profilux settings. Is there an easy way to update my remote computer?

Thanks

All the control data is updated, but not the descriptions of each socket and 1-10V interfaces. No biggie only took me a minute to enter them again.

This is normal behaviour because the descriptions are stored locally on your PC.
But you can copy the files with the configuration and descriptions, they can be found under a path like this:
C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Administrator\Anwendungsdaten\ProfiLuxControl

or in English windows:
C:\documents and settings\Administrator\application data\ProfiLuxControl

Of course you have to replace "Administrator" with you username.
In this directory are the mail and connection settings stored and in this directory is another directory, the name is the same like the serial number of your Profilux. There you find all descriptions.

Still would like to be able to either calibrate the thermometer or be able to select an offset from the factory value. I know this is a good thermometer that is permanently calibrated at the factory, but at least the one I have reliably reads ~ 1C higher than every other thermometer I have tried from the cheap glass ones with suction cups to a pretty decent Pinpoint unit. Obviously it is relative change in temperature, not the absolute number, that is important in controlling heaters, chillers, etc. But temp also has a major impact on the salinity determination and therefore I cannot get this accurate -- if I use the probe temp for salinity, it is off; and if I select a manual temp it will usually be off too.

Interesting point, but one very important bit of info here. The industry standard for ALL thermo devises is +/- 1 degree. I know,, I sell heaps of different types styles and designs manufactured all over the world.

So when taking your differential readings make sure you are accounting for this.

If GHl provide a way for people to shift the set point themselves they will have no way of putting it back if they mess it up, same goes with having an offset, you really could end up giving yourself false readings.

My advise - a controller that is industry proven with a very expensive temperature probe fitted to a high value dedicated controller, I would put my money on that one being the accurate.

Wow .. I get to read some wicked ideas people come up with here.. How much fun can your hobby be if you don't have to put any effort in...Just leaves to much time to finish honey-do's :)

Boy the sky is the limit does not even apply to some people expectations..

Glad the profilux has no rectal orifice or someone would want a wiper for it too :) (this is all meant for humor just laugh)
