history of lunar's reef

well what can i say that hasnt already been said, truely one of the marvels of reefing your tank is, a real inspiration...

will keep following

Hi Krzysztof, how many fish you have in your tank and from which species? I've count 17-18 from last pictures, but probably they are more? Thank you for inspiration and appreciate you patience to answer all questions (which often repeats itself :).

To join the last question. How are your angels behaving? And why is the emperor angel always in the juvenile stage on different videos?

Hey Lunar, I've followed this thread and your YouTube videos. The nicest tank I've seen and I look at a lot of them. Thanks for sharing it and what you've found that makes it successful.

Hi Krzysztof, I am yet another longtime admirer of your reef. In fact because of you I switched to T5 for awhile, but sadly I used a Sfiligoi fixture and the ballasts went bad after only one year so I returned to metal halide + T5 now. Anyways, I had some questions . . .

1) Have you ever had Red Bugs or AEFW? If yes how did you treat your system?
2) Do you have a large population of copepods and amphipods?
3) What kit or meter do you use to test for phosphate?

Thank you for your excellent thread here on Reef Central and thank you for being so nice to answer so many questions!

Joe :D

Hello Krzysztof, your tank looks stunning as always. In your latest video 2 acropora really caught my eye, i wonder if you could give me an ID?

I have never seen anything as yellow as this:
aebqwz.jpg

Is it millepora/selago?

And this must be the most amazing coral i have ever laid eyes on:
jsonit.jpg

It is similar to my blue turaki (hawkins echinata) so maybe a Pink turaki?

You truly are an inspiration
Best regards
Daniel

Looks like a mr pacman acro to me, but much pinker in colour.....
Latistella is not smooth skinned....

Never seen such a yellow acro!. What do you dose to get this yellow out, or is it just extremely low nutrients?, although I thought you aim to keep phos around 0.02?.

Cheers

Mo

Krzysztof,
I wanted to sy a big thank you for the information you have shared about your reef, it has been a tremendous help. I had tried two other brands of biopellets without success before I came across your thread. Near the beginning of the year I decided to give the NP biopellets a shot based on your success with them and they have worked out very well for me. I switched over to the All-in-one Pellets about 3 or 4 months ago and they have been even better. Im even giving the Biogrow 1-2-3 a shot(though I haven't seen much impact from it yet).

I was wondering if you have any recommendations for getting the light blue acroporas to stay light blue. The only color I seem to have issues with is that- light blue acropolis turn a bit purplish on the body while the coralites stay blue. Do you find that the color is better with more light? Less light? Whiter or bluer? More actinic? My biggest issue is with a blue staghorn acropora that is in the dead center of the tank, getting a par of 450 from the following mix of bulbs:
KZ Superblue-Giesemann Lagoon Blue-B+-ATI Actinic-Fiji Purple-B+-KZ New Gen-B+
Any insights you could offer would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I did not mean to derail this thread but no, its not A. latistella.

And i have owned A. Carduus "Mr Pacman" and it is a much more delicate branching coral then what Krzysztof has in his tank.

All i know is that i want it ;)

+1

I have Pacman and it has the most delicate branches.

And I want a frag of it too. :lolspin:

+1 its all nice :)

I am curious as to how you get the yellow in that coral, that's crazy. The pink one with green tips is stunning and different!
