I got a fever! bowhunter support group needed!

Lol..yea those young deer are NOT the brightest!

I rattled in a 4 pointer Saturday...it came within 20' of me and I kept rattling! I was on the ground, where I always rattle from, and it just kept comin' in lol. I drew on him just to see if he'd let me and he did lol. I let him go.

I shot a doe several years ago that had a button buck with her. I was waving my arms and yelling at him so I could go collect her. He just sat and stared at me.

Something definately changed around here, and Im thinking it was that warm spell we had.I dont know, but I saw a 8 this morning and tonight I almost got him.He came on so quick he caught me by surprise.Looked to my right and he was literally 3-5 yards from me.Never stopped ,slow steady trot , I didnt take a shot ,never had a chance to ,too.

I know nothing to report here really but man Im so wound up after all the time I spent this year in a tree and finally Im startring to see some real action again, worth mentioning anyway.I think the cold snap is having some kind of effect.

Not from a treestand today, but taking my kids to school this AM we saw a doe near the road not too far from my house. My oldest spotted the buck (smaller 4 pt) about 50 yards away from her in the field. She bolted across the road while we were quite a ways back. I told the kids, "Watch the buck chase her", and I slowed down.

Sure enough, he bolted after her. Had I maintained my speed, it definitely would have been a close one. The rut is on.

Snow tonight, red slush in the am I hope. Field and Streams Rut article is calling tomorrow THE day to be in the woods this year based on moon phase and other factors. Don't forget, statistically, the biggest bucks are killed between 10 a and 2 p during peak rut activity. Good luck all!!!

NIIIICE! Don't push too hard Steve! Even if you feel good about the shot give em 30 minutes! Can't wait to see him. Hope its a donkey!

Got some diehard veteran hunters down the road from me went to go callin a favor to help recover ,as of tonight I got nothing to show for 40+ hrs in but a single red coated arrow and good faith my shot placement was on.Definately passed through. To dark, buck thorns are a mother, cold and wet I was reluctant but went with the calling it off tonight.

Ill be on my own come morning, but im not giving up.The shot was good ,Im sure of it.No tissue ,just red right to the nock.I mean Im no expert hunter but I have taken deer before
and I cant imagine hes still alive. Not from what Ive seen.
Talking to much I know, adrenaline still kicks in everytime I think about it.
Hopefully Ill have a pic for you guys tomarrow.
- good luck guys heading out tomarrow I hope you all score.
-Steve

First buck I shot ran forever and a day. Took us four hours to find him. Just be patient and your persistance will pay off. Good luck!

I bet you recover him today...good luck Steve!

Had a small 6 come by and shortly after a young doe...hopefully todays the day!

Saw 3 spikes this am. Have not seen a single doe all season.

At this point u just want some venison. I've gone back and forth, but I'm goming to admit to the fact that I shot WAY over the back of one of the spikes this am after working him in with a grunt call. I was up on a hill in a tree about 30 feet off of the level ground. I had trees ranged out and I aimed way low and still went way over.

Time to face the ugly truth. Despite constant practice, I SUCK! That's the second arrow I let fly this fall and nothing to show for it.

Steve? Any luck?

Well mark you're in the same boat as I am. Otherwise watched a four does tonight. Closest one at 20 yds. Could've taken the shot but my first night hunting the property. Don't want to scare all the deer off before I get a good idea of what's out there.

I have gotten lucky this year with the number of deer i have seen. I just got permission thursday to hunt this land. Looks really promising though. I was watching a red fox before.these doe came through. Tomorrow i might take one if a buck doesnt show.
