Ian,

I'm really like the Radium 20K's on your tank...kinda like a ice blue. I'm still trying to decide on the lamps for my 450. Any thoughts ?

Jim

The radium are whiter than that by themselves. They work b/c of the actinic supplementation. I personally still like the radium 250w/magnetic hqi ballast combo. How tall is your tank again though?

At 30 inch I would probably do the 400s with 20k radiums. That is a little taller than Bryan's tank. He likes them.

Very nice Ian!! Fixture looks great! Glad it worked out for both of us ;) I need to make it on over soon to check the tank out in person.

I was thinking of going w/the 250's since there won't be much coral in there initially, but you recommend going with 400's from the get go ?

That tank and sump looks familiar.
i remember getting it made and planning that out.
youve done an awesome job

Yup, let me know when Erik. Love the fixture.

Its up to you but there isn't a huge difference is wattage from the 250s and 400s. The 250s run best over driven, while the 400s do not.

Looks awesome man, great job with everything!
Thanks, its been a long time coming.

Very, very nice tank and equipment... it will look amazing once those corals grow...
Yeah, its just too bad I lost a lot of my grown out sps in the tank move. Can't wait till they grow in.

So it was your tank, haha. How long ago was it built? Did I do you proud?
Wow Ian, The set up looks great. Congrats
Thanks Mark, when are you making your next trip to my next of the woods.

Nice tank and love the rockwork,I like the minimalist looking arrangement, would like to redo mine because it looks like rubble all over the place.

i wanna say i got it 3-4yrs ago but cant remember off the top of my head.
you've done very very well! im glad its being put to good use. wish i still had it :/
dont ever sell it! lol

what kind of fixture is that,is it just MH on there with T5s,interesting canopy light.
Its a sfiligoi. I am running 3 SE 250w 20k radiums on magnetic hqi ballasts and 8x39w T5HO (4 uvl super actinic, 4 blue plus).

Thanks, that is what I was going for. Lots of open swimming space but still lots of real estate for sps.

Cool, don't worry. I won't sell it (at least not for a long time).
