Hi

Hi

Hi folks,

I'm new to the forum. Have been an active reefer for 5 years now. Before I've always kept tropical sweet water fish (for about 20 years), but the beauty and challenge of the reeftank attracted me more and more.

I'm living and working in Belgium, close to Brussels. Native Belgian citizen.
But always keen to exchange ideas with hobbyists from all over the globe!
So RC was the place to go next, and here I am.

Have a lot to read now, so hello everyone and see you in one of the discussions!

Grtz

New to Reef Central

I've been researching allot of info on the web since setting up my tank, and it seemed that 9 out of 10 times this site was the first in line on the google search. So I've been a visitor for awhile now. Recently bought some frags off of craigslist and the guy spoke highly of this site so I thought it was time to become a member. I've been into freshwater on and off for approx 30 yrs and just recently decided to take the leak...and oh boy is it addicting:spin2:. Anyway, look forward to the great reading and learning provided by all members of this site. :)

Hello everyone. I just started this hobby. I just bought a 160 gallon tank from a friend. Tank came with everything I needed except a good filtration system. The one they have is a Marineland Penguin BIO-Wheel Power Filter (just one) . I have been to a GREAT place where I live with someone VERY knowledgeable. The set-up they had is all wrong, but I am in the process of fixing it. Just very expensive!!! I just started this hobby and I love it.

Hey everyone I'm Matt and I've been in the hobby for a little over a year now. I started off with a 55 gallon reef and am currently in the process of upgrading to a 150. I've gone through quite a few threads as a guest here but finally decided to become a member and I'm looking forward to learning from everyone here.

Hello everyone, My name is Scott I'm 44, a licensed electrician/automation specialist with racing RC cars for another passion. I have had fresh water setups many years ago but got bored. I always wanted to do a saltwater setup but wanted a what I consider a larger setup +75g. Just recently I have purchsaed a 100g freshwater setup that I plan to convert to saltwater. I just moved my daughter to university so now this frees up room to do this setup. while we were away stopped at the local reef store and purchased a used sump container with a 3 stage/drawer filter. I thought the price was right ($80) and plan to go this route so picked it up. I still have a ton of questions and know this will be a slow but rewarding process and can't wait to start. So please be patient with my questions as I want to do this right. Feel free to PM me with any tips/info, good reads or just to say hi. Now I'm off to read and ask questions and get the area ready for my new adventure.

Scott

Hey everyone i have a 100 gal reef tank in the beginning stages of getting fish, corals, inverts....I have 3 clowns 2 percs and 1 mocha, scooter blenny, large Sebae anemone, carpet anemone, and so far one leather coral. I know its not much yet my local fish store doesn't have much to choose from at the moment.

This forum has already helped me out of a few problems already and has answered many questions so just want to thank everyone

Hello everyone! My names Jayne. I'm mostly a newbie. I once had a beginer 40 gallon marine aquarium. Kept the hardier fish with alot of live rock. Did well for years.Things happen and the person who was to care for it, let it die. My intention now is to "regrow" the live rock. I forgot how much I love marine life and would like my collection to grow. While researching I continually got lead to Central Reef. I found the information helpful. So, I decided to join in hopes that more experienced people may help me from time to time in my marine adventure.

Hey guys I just made a my first post. I signed up forever ago because I've wanted a tank for a long time. Well never had the money for it back then, but decided to do it finally. Of course my friend getting a 120g tank made me fall in love with it again. I'll be on here asking questions for sure!

Hello everyone at RC

Hello everyone at RC

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie at this hobby, but have always been fascinated with snorkeling and reefs in general. I have alway wanted a SW reef tank of my own and finally I went ahead and bought a biocube 29 the other day. I just wanted something small for now. Once I master the bc, I plan to upgrade to a 55 or larger tank.

My main goal is to setup a nice reef tank. I want SPS so I'm looking into upgrading the lights eventually. So far its the stock BC29. I have taken out the bottom in chamber 1 removed the bioballs from chamer 2 and using poly filter.
Ordered at MJ1200 for the pump that will be here thursday.

So far I have 20 lbs of LS and 20 lbs of LR. I'll be adding another 10 lbs of LR once the store gets a new shipment.

Here's a picture of my tank so far. The water is still murky since I just added the rest of the sand today.

Hello my name is Mark and I'm a tankaholic. I setup a 55 gallon salt tank in my classroom and am stocking it with local critters from our intertidal zone here in Hawaii. No live rock, sand, or corals of course, but I still have a lot of interesting animals to choose from. It's been about twenty years since I setup a salt tank so I'm getting up to speed, lighting looks very interesting. I'm experimenting with some par 38, 12w, 6500K LED bulbs that fit into a standard e27 socket. I hope to learn a great deal from you folks, and I hope I can help others along the away as well.

New guy here, name is Kit. I'm great with Freshwater... doing it for years. Have a 130 gallon tank with all African Cichlids and a 30gal for the kids with a few different fish, mostly tetras, a danio and a couple goldfish... it's what they like. HA My 130 gal I love, and now want to venture into the saltwater world. I've been reading here like crazy trying to get ideas on the setup I want and if I should start with a FO or FOWLR seeing as I'm new to it all. I'm looking to start with a 40 to 55 gal as even with freshwater the bigger the tank the easier it is to manage. I don't have a tank yet or anything else for that matter which is one reason I've been reading here. I'm confused by many things for some reason but I hope to find all my answers here! I'm sure I'll eventually start my own thread but thought to introduce myself for now.
