Hi, my name is Michael. I am very new to saltwater. I have on order an oceanic 156, it will be (hopefully) a fish and coral tank. I am in the process of building a stand now. I will be asking suggestions on lighting, sumps and skimmers.

Thanks,
M.

wow--that is a really nice tank. If you start your own thread and ask for lighing and skimmer suggestions there I am sure reefers with similar tanks will post to it

Hey folks
Hi my name is Mark, I am currently in the middle of expanding a system that was roughly 500 gallons. The new configuration will be right around 1,500 gallons and has 7 tanks. I will no doubt have several questions, so please be easy on me. While I understand the plumbing issues I am not so familiar with skimmers, refugiums, etc.... Thanks in advance for your' patience.

This is a setup that I would really like to see. I hope you setup a build thread real soon

I've been a lurker here for the last 6 months. I can't contribute much but you alls input has contributed knowledge-wise to me. I only do freshwater setups, specifically tropheus and planted tanks. I enjoy my WaveySeas, although one did stop rotating. I'm pretty happy that I recently upgraded my lighting to ATI PMs. And now I'm checking out the Vortech MP40Ws for more flow in my tropheus tanks.

I have 4-Oceanic 120s, 2-DSA 90s, and I hope to get a DSA 215 or bigger next year.

Hey I am new to the hobby. I am looking to buy a tank soon and get started. I have some friends pretty well involved in the hobby and they have gotten me very interested.

Which posts around here are the "must reads" for those just starting out?

Hi I'm newbie in marine tanks (I'm interested in saltwater about 2 months) I hope i'll start my first nano-reef in September/October at the moment I got all stuff to start nano-reef as : tank, light, circulation, RO filter etc. and now I'm collecting money for live rock and salt to start with my nano. I'm Polish and I live in Poland but I'm looking for the info about nano reefs on the internet and I found this forum so I decided to register because it's big and interesting and i hope I'll learn something here :)

ps. sorry if my english is bad I'll do my best to write correct :wavehand:

very interesting---I do both fresh and salt water setups. Some of us have asked for a fresh water forum on here but to no success. However alot of the concepts are very similar. Do you have a site you use as a fresh water forum?

Hello my name is Bill and I have been into the hobby for about 5 years in freshwater and about 3 in saltwater. I have learned a lot and hope to learn more. I used to have three tanks, and now down to one 24 gallon nanocube reef.

I forgot to mention that we do have a forum for nanocubes on Reef Central

Newby here. Great forum!

Newby here. Great forum!

Hi, I missed posting here. I've been reading RC for some time now. I have no experience whatsoever in SW tanks. The only salt-related know-how I have is in low-end Brackish and salt baths for health issues in FW fish.

It's been a rollercoaster of emotions lately what I've been going through as I keep reading as I am in the planning/set-up stage right now.

Thank you for keeping this site working and sharing your experience for someone like me.
