giving it another go

Hi Everyone, getting back into the hobby after 20 years away, and a lot has changed ! Setting up a 56 cube as a small reef tank. Looking forward to advice and assistance.

Gabriel from Phoenix, Arizona. Will be 27 in a couple months. This is my first reef aquarium however I've had a fresh water aquarium for about nine years. Still very very different though haha. I have a 150 Gal 5' x 24" x 24". Novice here and will be on this thread frequently. Picture is of my freshwater aquarium which I sold as a whole last weekend. Reef aquarium pics will be posted at some point. :)

Hello RC.
My name is Dale and I am from the Tampa Bay area.
I have had many freshwater tanks over the years, but have always wanted to try my hand at doing a saltwater tank. After doing a little research I soon realized that what I really wanted was to do a reef tank. Currently have absolutely ZERO equipment but looking forward to learning as much as possible before committing. Will most likely start out with a 40 gal. BeAnAnimal overflow seems to be the way to go, along with a good sized sump with enough room to grow and add needed and "nice to have" items.
If you see me posting it most likely will be in the form of a question after searching and not finding the answer elsewhere.

Hello...
I'm new here. Been into fishkeeping for years but I'm still learning about reefing. I've had my tank up and running for about 3 years now and recently started adding corals.

I love them but other can be a pain in the button!

I will be asking for help from time to time.

Hello RC comunity, to be honest I have NO experience with reef keeping, but as I am planing to convert my 450 gal cichlid tank into a reef tank in the far future I have began to read as much as I can about reef keeping before starting the Job. And for that I am very glad to have found this Website full of very professional & cientific Information. As soon as I have a plan on how and what exactly I am going to construct I will start asking my question to you. Thank you very much, especially to Randy Holmes-Farley for those great, informative & very didactic articles. Claus

Hello all

Hello all

Hello I am new to reef tanks, I've had a FOWLR tank for about five years and I'm finding out that I've done a bunch of stuff wrong, before that I had a fresh water tank for about ten years. I've been lurking all month reading and trying to learn as much as possible so I thought I would finally introduce myself. I'm Felix I live in San Antonio Texas, I'm going to be doing a 160 gallon tank I hope I don't regret going so big so fast! There's a lot of great info on here and I'm trying to absorb as much as possible.

New to the hobby

New to the hobby

Hello,

I am brand new to this. I have had a little experience several years ago with a freshwater tank but no experience with saltwater. I have been reading up for a while now and am ready to get started. I have been looking around for tanks and whether to get an all in one system or get everything separate. I am leaning toward the all in one Red Sea max S series. I would like to have a variety of corals in the future with reef safe fish as well. I was wondering if you all had any thoughts about the tank? I appreciate any and all help and advice. Also, my 13 year old daughter is setting out on this adventure with me!!

Thanks!

Hello!!

Hello!!

Hi everyone I`m Jeff...Totally new to the hobby...saltwater anyways. But I just wanted to say hello and look forward to getting to know some folks here!! Hello all. My name is Mike, and I'm returning to the hobby post military retirement. Just inherited a 265g system and joined the group looking for advice to get a great start. I've decided to go with the Triton methodology and I need some help with the refugium size. Any experts with Triton experience would be of great help. Looking forward to the ride.

Hello all, i am new to posting in reef central, though i have been in the hobby off and on for 20 years. Started with freshwater before falling in love with the reef side of the hobby. Grew up in MN but moved to south Florida about 10 years ago. Time and funds keep me away at the moment so um living vicariously through all of your adventures. I am a chemistry student right now so i am learning to apply what im learning to the hobby. Wow what a difference a little chemical knowledge makes. Good to be here. My last build was posted on reeffrontiers.com in the past. hopefully i will get the chance to do it again here as well.

Hello all, I am getting back to the hobby after a 20 year hiatus.
This weekend I will be setting up a 54g corner tank as reef tank.
I am looking for advice on wave pumps and controllers

new here

new here

Hello, I'm new to this site. I had a larger reef tank a long time ago - sold that. I had a 130 gal reef tank I kick myself for selling a few yrs ago. I currently have a 60 gal fresh water to maintain my koi/goldfish over winter for their summer pond. I missed the salt water tank and wanted to start again. Hubby got me a bio-cube 32 for my birthday and I have changed the filtering in the back of the tank and started the tank up 6 days ago. I am going to start a journal to get feedback from those of you with experience. I look forward to learning what I can.

Hello, new here. I'm new to the reefing hobby but I'm super stoked. Had multiple planted tanks over the past few years. First reef tank is gonna be a marineland 3 gallon pico! Bumped up the filtration with some diy and it's been cycling for a week with dead rock from a fellow reefer! May start a blog on it to get feedback and advice. Should I?

Hello! Long time lurker finally posting after getting tons of great info from all of you. Moving on from several FOWLR setups over the years (29, 56 and a brief nano-disaster) to our first 75g reef tank. We got the tank from a friend and are building a stand currently (a la rocketengineer.) Looking forward to being a more active part of the community!

Hello from a new old aquarist

Hello from a new old aquarist

Hi folks. I'm new here, just beginning what I suspect will be a long bout of research before I build and set up a tank. I was an avid aquarist (saltwater, mostly fish but a few soft corals and invertebrates) in the 70s and 80s. Then I went to grad school, got married, had kids, got a job, etc., etc..

So now I'm trying to catch up on 30 years of development in the hobby before I jump back in. This site, and especially the forums, have provided excellent reading so far. Thanks.
