It's just another 40 Breeder thread

****UPDATE*****

Ok so it has been one week and the cyano seems to have diminished itself from my tank. I have small traces of it if not all but none. I did a water change last Wednesday and syphoned all I could out but had been doing this for a few weeks now and my rocks would be covered again in 3-4 days. So it seems to have fixed itself.

I ordered my new bulbs and should be here thursday. Im going with ATI T5s and using 2 Blue Plus, 1 Aquablue special and 1 Purple Plus. I use this on my Biocube and seems to work very well and I like the color it produces.

Also will be moving starry over this week also.

Ill be spending Friday night moving over a bunch of corals from my Biocube and redoing the Biocube. Ill be transferring over a bunch of SPS i have collected over the period I have been building this 40 breeder. And other various zoas and some duncans. So I should be able to give some pic updates by the end of this week and it will finally begin to be a reef.

Looks like you've got some awesome looking coralline coming in!

Last night, I just introduced my Starry blenny to his new home. Looks like he adapted pretty quickly. Seems he already found his little spot. Hopefully if he is out tonight I can get a pic of him

New inhabitant. I put my starry blenny in the other day. Seems he adjusted quickly. Found plenty of hiding spots.

So I went ahead and tested the water. Alk test just ran out tonight...so gotta pick one up tomorrow. Mag was good but calcium a little low. Dosing that now. But phos is still 0.

Bulbs come in tomorrow so Im making sure everything is good. Friday night will be transferring coral. So far here's the list I know so far: Duncans, Red table Mille, Green Mille, Leng Sy Monti, Lime green monti, Blue tort, Cali tort, Oregon tort, ORA Nuke Green Birdsnest, Green stag, Frog in a Blender, Purple with green polyp acro and green slimer.

So it's official. My 40 breeder is now an SPS dom reef. I did a water change, got the new bulbs in and transferred all my corals intended for this tank. Im pretty excited about it. Well here's some pics to share

I did turn off the actinics so some of the colors would come out better so these are with whites only.

Beautiful corals!! You might want to consider raising your lights a good bit for a while, and lowering them slowly. The ATI T5s put out a lot of PAR, and they are so close to those beautiful corals. I'd hate to see you bleach them out, like I did.

All those corals where in my Biocube with the same light setups so its not anymore light then where they came from.

It made the transfer of corals very easy

Update. New stock for the tank. My clean up crew has been slowly cleaning off the some the brown algae but everything seems happy. Picked up something yesterday.

Blue porcelain crab. I love these little guys. I plan on getting a few more as they are so fun to watch.
