Jackson's 115 Gallon Custom Cube 32x32x26

Great stuff! I really love your fish selections and your corals are looking pretty happy right now. Awesome update!

Thanks. The fish keep me interested in the tank when I get ****ed off at the sps:lolspin:

It looks like the corals have take to the new lighting quite well - tank is looking really good!

Thanks. Growth increased almost immediately. I didn't have full coverage with the giesemann spectra. I must admit, I miss the color and look of the 400w radium:uhoh2:

Wow, great cube! Jammed with sea gems
Sea gems lol. Thanks.

Great pics! Where did you get the screen for your top? Looks bigger than the BRS 1/4" netting.

I ordered it from amazon. Small fish can get through this pretty easily though.

Continues to impress Richard.

Thank you sir :)

Things are looking spectacular, love the shot of the lyretail :)

That's an easy one to shoot. Always out front. The wrasses are a pain. They're always zooming around the tank.

Fantastic update, everything is looking great and I love how busy your tank looks with all of those fish.

Thanks. I try to choose fish with contrasting colors to ad to the collage .

Can never get enough of your tank rich!
Tank looks awesome:beer:

Can't remember if i've asked you before but what's your bulb combo?

Thanks Mike. I don't remember either :). I'm running 6 blue+, 3 coral+, and 1 AB special. This combo looks ok I guess. I'll tinker more with it over the winter.

If anyone has a good 10 bulb combo I'm open to suggestions.

I would maybe give 5 Blue+ and 5 Coral+ a try, seems to give a nice crisp white with some pop still. The AB Special seems to wash everything out, no matter how many bulbs go in around it.

Update please. How are the coral colours now? Are colours maintained? Are some corals better under T5/some worse off?

It's high time for an update Rich!
Ok :)

I'll try swapping out the AB special for another coral +

So far colors are good, but not as eye popping as they were with the halide. Growth remains fast. Colors on most corals are good, but lack vibrance as I had before. Not blaming this all on the light. I am balancing out the nutrient/carbon dosing scheme. No coral is noticeably worse. The millis in my tank are better than before. I'm bad at explaining overall. I guess I'm still on the fence about the lighting, I need more time to decide. I will admit that I am missing my 400w radium :lmao:

Here's an iPhone pic from tonight.

I think it looks really good Rich, with a little tweaking of your bulb mix and time those corals will be Ben more saturated with color!

I can see the difference and agree, not as eye popping as the Halide.

In by extremely brief experience the best I can do to match the only Radium I've seen is blue, coral, and then LED to help add pop. A purple bulb adds to the reds, but not the same way. Unfortunately while the LED (mostly blue and enough white to flicker) makes the tank look more Halide like the acros don't seem to like it.

If I had the spare cash I might try a strip of Lime and Royal Blue LED's to brighten it up to my eyes and add the flicker. Lime seems to add the visual brightness without bringing all the crap a white LED would.

Just putting that idea in your head. :D

Can't agree with this more! The Blue+ and Coral+ combo seems to be the closest I've seen to a Radium minus the shimmer.

Why do you say the acros don't like the blues? I can understand the white LEDs as they are basically useless besides aesthetics.

So I put the halide back on last month lol. I still have the 10 bulb ATI and I plan on putting it back on before summer starts :) I just love the halide. It's so pleasing to the eye and keeps my home nice and warm in the winter lol. Running 14k Aqua connect right now.

I decided to clean the tank up. Some of the faster growers, mainly montis + stylos, took over since the mini crash that I had in the spring. Flow was greatly reduced, and so was available real estate. Here's what it looks like now. Going to leave it alone now and let it grow out again.

Really pleased to see your yummy reef going well again Richard. Looking forward to more pics when you get a chance please mate :)

Great recovery, Jackson. It looks great!

With your experience, how would you compare the AquaConnect to Radium?

Thanks. The AC is a similar spectrum to the Radium, with an added pink hue (like old coralvue bulbs). It's also a little brighter to the eye. Overall I like the radium look better, but I'm trying out the AC to see it's effect on growth. I never actually ran an AC for any length of time :hmm3:

That's an awfully pretty space heater! Tank is looking good!

 Ty

Great looking tank and nice shots!

Thanks!
