Running a quite one 4000 on the 160 now and and its pushing @ least 660 at the same height and its Max rating is 900gph (I forget at how many feet)
The quite one is silent and does want I want, I'm just looking for the feed mode, step up start & reduced wattage in the DC 6000
What size tank is the dc12000 on?how much of a glow loss you getting?

well a quick review, comparison with an eheim 1262 vs DC-6000 pump.
i have a union installed in line with my plumbing. replacement was straight forward. cut a new piece of spaflex and used one of the many adapters included to match up with my 1" return pump plumbing. i find the feed option really nice, and im using it more for feeding operations. before, i had to turn off my main pump via my controller.
its just a push of the button now, and it seems to be timed right...+-a few minutes.
when first setup, there was a little whine to the motor. after a few weeks, ive noticed the whine is gone, and its darn quiet. i think its a few Db's lower than my ehiem.
i think folks get fooled on the actual flow on this unit due to the slow start ramp up to full flow. im convinced this pump flows pretty comparable to the eheim pump based on GFO tumble rate.
overall, what can i say. a hundred bux spent on a DC pump.....happy for now.

docstach, The sump was made locally in NYC by Custom King Acrylics. He does some awesome work..
And this is how I plumbed it into the system ( the Pump has a 1.5" intake and output which I reduced to 1")

I didn't go with a Herbie overflow since I wanted a smaller overflow box. I went with a standard durso and it is silent.
Pic of the tank almost finished. You can see how small my overflow box is. The tank was custom made. Excuse the wires. I am waiting I=on some wire management stuff and also have to set up the controls cabinet. Hopefully this weekend I can finish.

I'm all about saving money BUT these Jaobo or what ever it is concerns me, My guy says they're junk, He could sell em all day long. Long term they don't stand up, O ya they will replace them if you gotta problem but I don't want any. Now if the Dc pumps were made in the states then fine but not in Asia. Crap for what, to save a few bucks Not me.

The fact is the jury is still out these haven't been out long enough to know truly how reliable they are. Very ,Very few things are manufactured in the states.
Maybe Maybe not. Three months and mine are working perfectly. For the money They only need to last 18 month's to win the value proposition.

I'm just going to keep it real and call out your post as unfounded. No one has had any trouble with them so far and they are to new to have any documented long term usage results.

I agree. Most things that say "Made in the USA" were actually only assembled in the USA. Not to say that there isn't allot of poorly made things coming from China but not all companies are bad. SO far this has been one of the best pumps I have had in a long while. Running for 3-4 months now and not one hiccup. But it was so cheap that I got a backup for $100.
I keep seeing posts about head pressure loss and lack of flow that they heard about. I really don't see the point of those posts. This is not a pressure pump. Wasn't advertised as one and I don't think I would ever use one as such. Great flow pump, YES. Runs multiple reactors and feeds to refugiums and frag tanks, YES. Made at the same factory as all of the other pumps you pay triple for and can't even get, YES.
I almost bought a RD3 DC pump from Royal Xclusiv for $1800. Does the same thing as the Jebao. Better quality, YES. Consistent head pressure, YES. Cost an arm and a leg to do the same thing as the Jebao, YES.
Informed decisions. That's what will make or break your tank and your bank. If you hate chinese made products don't use 80% of the things you love that is running your tank right now. I will be the first person on the boards to let you know if this is garbage, dangerous or a waste of your money. I am stingy, greedy and anal about my tank. I only give unbiased reviews as no one gives me anything free for my tank hence why I am always broke.
Buy products that serve the purpose you are looking for. This is not an Iwaki, Reeflo or any of the other well made purpose pumps out there. This fills a niche. Lots of flow without a lot of dough!

Where does "your guy" get his info from?
I have had a my WP-40 since April and my WP-25 since June and have not had problems with either. That's 9 and 7 months respectively and I have had no problems with either running on a Reef Angel controller.
I would think that the pump would be more stable and reliable on the stock controller than a 3rd party.
Just because something is less expensive DOES NOT mean it is cheap. 95% of all "Genereic" or Store Brand foods and OTC medicine sold in store is made in the same factories and the name brand stuff, you just save because you don't have to pay for the advertising and customer service on it.
Jebao basically has not customer service on the pumps everything is done thru the re-seller, even past 30-90 days after purchase.

I'm still keeping my trusty Eheim 1262 (still sitting in the sump), as well as my backup 1260........this is just an experiment.
for the price point, the only thing ive lost out on at this point is a few decibels

Yep still happy with the Jebao but I have to change the manifold. I need more flow to some reactors without changing the flow to the DT. So I need to add a valve before the tank now. Still only running it on level 3 and not a hiccup.
