you have the length for the yellow tang and introducing it after a kole tang is a good idea--the yellow and the powder blues should be the last tangs you add

good luck and please post some pics

i went in today and the yellow tang some darker yellow spots on its head today, just going to have to wait it out. picked up one pep shrimp out of the tank that used to be full of aiptasia so its acclimating now.

1st August post(out of 2 or 3 hehe)

i decided to order from reefhot spot since none of the LFS was carrying pep shrimps or super tongan nass snails.

2 x Peppermint Shrimp (Lysamata wurdemanni)
1 x Cerith Snail ()
Pack Count 10 Pack
5 x Nassarius Snails--Super Tonga
1 x Pink Lady Zoa Rock 20-40 Polyps

with shipping it was around $90

i was in such a rush to get everything acclimated(i took the day off) i really didnt get many pics

this was to boost my cleanup crew a bit since i didnt have any super tongan snails and i didnt want to order any reg nass snails since they could be confused with welks. Every thing came packaged well but i noticed there were only 5 cerith snails with only 4 moving around. on top of that one of them had 3 barnicles lol i called Reefhotspot and told them in only recieved half of my cerith snails, they refunded me the 5 bucks but i was still kinda steamed since i paid shipping and they are hard to come by at the LFS around here.

i acclimated all of them and lost one tongan nass and the cerith that was not moving around. the zoas were diped in some reef dip i have and a freshwater dip.

this is a current shot of them, i have yet to get a great shot tho

i put one pep shrimp in the DT and one in the fuge that decided he didnt like it so he moved to the sump(intake) area of the sump/fuge. i also put one tongan in the fuge.

about a week later i added a new coral in the tank a blushing leather coral. doing the same thing i do with all corals, dip and freshwater

here is another pic of it upclose

my sand looks so nice in that pic too, after i put this coral in diatoms started to over take the tank. the starting point was the new coral or the plug it came from, after a week i also had a bit of cyno on the rocks. After seeing swift dealing with cyno i decided to do 2 days lights out with blankets. After 2 days all the diatoms and cyno was gone, all the fish and corals were ok and the water was never clearer. I removed my rena x3 canister filter since i had a phosphate reactor and had a TLF carbon reactor hooked up.
i saw a 1 degree drop in over all temp, for the first time the reef was sitting around 77.8.

Edit: i picked up a little frag of pulsing xenia also

next update: kud buys alot of stuff!!!!

yeah the growth has always been great, it did slow down a bit after the T-5s were put in, i think i grew better under the compacts.

Yep, my coraline growth is highest in the lower-light/shaded areas of my tank... especially under my overflow.

rofl so i now have 2 pep shimp in the sump, one i put in there in Aug and the one i put in the fuge last night, looked for him in the fuge during lunch but couldnt find him....he is in the intake part of the sump hanging out with the other pep shrimp /cry

the purple coraline has been slowly dieing off in the middle of the tank and being taken over by green coralline.

pep shrimp update: looks like the little guy did eat most of the aiptasia in the fuge, could only find one this morning so its getting blasted after work.

I've also noticed the same thing happening in my tank on the back wall. I see a lot more green now.

Althought the rocks still have the nice pink/purple on them.

i had a die off after i started the 2 part, i even had some off the rocks, most of it has come back on the rocks but the glass coraline really took a hit, the green stuff grows faster and i have to make sure i scrape everyday.

long day, drove 300 miles to pick up a 55 gallon tank with stock hood and lights. moving my FW fish there and feeing up the 29 gallon.

well i traded something i was not using or was ever going to use again for it, so it cost me 30 something in gas plus snacks

Haha... I hear ya... I went 200 miles round trip tonight.

i traded my rena xp3 filter, it was an evenish trade, a new 55 is $129 and hood and lights for it(stock) is $60, the filter is around 180 something
i have a tinfoil bard that is 6.5 inches long and it is cramped in the 29. my wife mentioned the other day i was not giving the FW fish much love so this weekend i am building a stand and transfering things over, thats the plan atleast.
