How long did it take to get to you?
I temp acclimated opened the bag and rolled the top down so it floated and for only 30mins periodically let some of my water into the bag.
The water in the bag looked pretty funky so I didn't want to keep him in it longer than I had to. Had some expelled waste and smell to it. If ammonia was present I wanted him out.
Also I run a non coral system, all anemones, same salt and same parameters as LA so I wasn't insanely worried about parameter change shock.
If the water is funky--it sure will--I'd like to get it out ASAP too
Yeah all is well though super healthy. He's back to exploring the tank again though :headwallblue:
Not like he can hurt anything he's alone in his tank.
Uuugh my last mag ended itself up by wandering into an mp10 and being smashed up. Its venom swiped out all my fish. So I ordered the new one from dd and the expensive a anthias @@@@@@
Oh my foam covers are on mine and I ordered 3 spares from BRS.
I have two mags, they are in separate tanks though. I have two displays built into my wall in the living room.
I always cover it with foam but unfortunately I forgot to put it back on that night uuugh
That's some serious bad timing for it to walk. Maybe the increased flow from not having the cover on made it walk. I'll be keeping an eye out on this thread for the pictures of your new mag!
Be nice to keep a thread of what people got for each location of mag from LA so people can see what they expect to get. LA really needs to add more pictures on their site.
I put an order in from LA last night. Just in case I do have an extra 30g tank if I need to treat it. My only concern is lighting for the QT. I can borrow a Pharos LED but not sure what to set the intensity at. Also, does anyone know if it is likely the local vet will sell me cipro or should I look for it online? I will post some pics when it arrives. Thanks for any help.

They don't stop nem's very well. Proof is in the little graveyard at the bottom of my drains. I lost 4 fish, with only my percula surviving. I'm seriously considering an acrylic guard I saw. I consisted of 2 rings that fit the front and rear of the wet side, extent an inch or two from the wet side, and have screen along the outer perimeter to prevent anything from getting through.
I've had a nem on the foam and not cause any damage to it. But I can see how the nem could easily push the foam cover off since they aren't exactly a tight fit on there.
The ones you saw were to buy or a homemade type thing? Would love to ditch the foam for something that is less flow restricting.
