LA Sri Lanka Heteractis Magnifica

I've had a nem on the foam and not cause any damage to it. But I can see how the nem could easily push the foam cover off since they aren't exactly a tight fit on there.

The ones you saw were to buy or a homemade type thing? Would love to ditch the foam for something that is less flow restricting.

Someone on RC custom built them. I had the thread bookmarked, but lost it while cleaning up my bookmarks.

I got mine:

doing not very well, the water is really funky, making me almost vomit

say 1/4 showing a sigh of necrosis

the color is nice, should be pink with green tentacles

I'll wait and see what to do next

Mine arrived but it will be floating in my tank until I get home from school later on. Hoping for the best for the both of us. I am prepared to QT just missing the cipro as of now. Can't decide if I should order it online or try the vet or a prescription.

What is the ideal acclimation for these guys?

Mine didn't float. It's not totally open but it clings to a peak of the rock I put it on.

Well if the water is funky, like mine, it was really bad, no good to put it long in the bag for a dripping. Just turn off all the power heads, put it to where you want and put a mesh net over it to anchor it. Till you see it's foot swell and attach itself onto it, switch on the power heads again. Give it strong wave to blow off all the necrosis or whatever **** on its body and leave it alone

Put a cover above it to reduce the lighting

Hopefully they perk up. The water in mine was funky but not vomit funky. It was also deflated but anchored its foot pretty quick and took a few hours to really perk up.

Mine was really vomiting and you can see visible necrosis on its column.

But it anchored fairly quick and now it is being blown up a bit

Just got home and put it in the tank. A little waste in the bag but it looks pretty good and stuck to my hand as I was placing it in.

Notoriously bad shippers :-/ I'd contact LA and let them know of the situation. They are good people.

Should it perish, I will. It moved to the side of the rock--quite natural reaction for acclimating mag and half inflated. it rolls up the injured part and keeps half inflated.

for teasers this is basically what it looks like. I'll try to take a picture if it stays quite well this afternoon when I'm home. Or I'll contact la
