AWESOME CATCH!

These babies are Kevin Kohen's.......so I would do a proper acclimation as opposed to a QT.

airhead
lights off
water change before

proper foods:
PE Mysis, Hakari Mysis, Nutrmar-Ova, etc

change carbon & GFO before arrival

buy some pods online such as reefs2go.com

do not put a wrasse that burrows into a mixed crushed coral tank as the sharp edges will abrade the fishes scales and cause wounds that the fish will succumb to . aragalive seafloor special works out the best for you and the fish . it wont hurt the fish and its coarse enough so you can clean it and it wont all get sucked up by the vacuum apparatus .
mystery , also i have found that if i feed NLS pellets first that they will eat them after a few weeks . i first feed pellets ,then brine and cyclopeeze mixed, then PE mysis and it seems to keep them fat and happy . small amounts of each as this is really considered one feeding . they will eventually eat the pellets and that a great thing as i have been finding out .
once they start eating the pellets they will get better color and be healthier

acclimate salinity, alk, & temp.....first, before display....

x2...I placed my Blue star directly in as well and stayed buried for almost three weeks at which time it would come out for an hour or so each day gradually longer and longer....it took small pieces of PE Mysis the first day it was out...

Well, my tank is nominally at 1.025, so should be a close match to fish shipped from DD in Wisconsin. My acclimation plan is to float the bags to equalize temperature and then just remove fish to the refuigium with the lights out. Do you suggest a different approach? Will see if they take frozen Mysis (have both hikari and PE at home); if not, will order pods.

that sounds great! nutramar-ova is another food that get's fish to eat, however, it would have said on the page that they eating mysis & fortified brine (guessing, but Kevin would not have let them go until they were eating frozen). Get yourself a 10 dollar bottle of Selcon, too (it will last a year in the fridge).

So, you are the one that sniped them away from me. LOL...

Great luck with them. Keep us posted...

Yeah, sorry! If it is any consolation I have been skunked more than a few times by getting to the update too late. Almost dropped me false teeth when the purchase went through.

My male blue star is still missing. Been over a month since I've seen him. Hopefully he's hibernating...(I know they don't hibernate lol) just wishful thinking! All I did was add some LR. Saw him the day after and haven't seen him since. The female is out all day every day!

First world problems lol

Well, somebody got them in about the first minute but it weren't me - mine are due to arrive tomorrow morning. Anybody here get them?

Is it possible to keep males from different Leopard species in the same tank together? Bipartitus and Meleagris, for example, in a 265?
