I second that. Beautiful fish!

Thanks. Ya, I got him October 30th, 2008, so I am crossing my fingers it makes it to the 1 year mark. It appears very healthy and active so I am pretty sure it will make it. My Bipartitus passed the 1 year mark in early July.

awesome wrasse ,every time i order one they come in dead or on the brink of death so i let my LFS try to help them and they never seem to make it .

Hey guys,

I just got bipartitus wrasse from my lfs. He is doing great, eating frozen food already. How do I know if it is a male or female? Thanks!

male

Thanks a lot! I've got a female.

the male that is pictured came from the same group of females ans was a female but morphed into a male so you certainly have a chance .

I've had mine for at least four months now (need to go back and see when i got him). He didn't come out at all for nearly a month, then was out for a few hours , disappeared for two weeks, then out for a few more hours one day, then all day everyday after that. Took him a while to readily eat prepared foods, but he munches anything that goes into the tank now. He's my prize fish:). I need to get him a female or two...

i have tried to get my male bipartius in with my females twice and it didnt work out that well and he had to be removed so no damage was done to the fish ,

I think I really lucked out with my potters leopard wrasse. It was eating frozen food at the store, and has been thriving so far. I think it thinks its a tang, it follows my tangs around, and eats everything thats offered, flakes, pellets, veggies, and loves anything frozen. I have had it for about 3 months so far. By far my favorite fish.

I added it right to the tank, its in a 125g mixed reef with a purple tang, hippo, and a coral beauty. I have a 31/2" sandbed, about 200lbs of lr in the display and another 40 in the sump.

I need to start hunting for some potters... M. bipartitus is my favorite, but M. geoffreyi has really been making me question my favs:).

I have a pair of bipartus where the female was introduced first followed by the male. No issues so far (six months)
