Dizzle, mine comes out late in the morning and disappears into the sand just before 8PM like clockwork. Since they were collected in the same place and came from the same supplier that seems a little odd. Could anything be harassing them?

They are not being harassed and they eat like pigs. They are also starting to stay out longer, it has just been my experience that other leopards start later and work the other way, not starting early in the day. May e I am just being paranoid.

i have three bipartus in a 90 gal tank and they come out 7 or 8 hours before the lights turn on . they are out at 8am every day and they stay out till about 6 pm then the lights are on for a couple of hours with no fish in the tank .i will be cutting back on the evening to save costs and there is no reason for the lights to be on anyway .

almost all of mine do too Steve but in this one tank they are certainly early risers . i have begun feeding them breakfast and that may have contributed i would imagine . all my other tanks the fish are on the light cycle like yours .

I have a potter wrasse going on three wks. He its well but he is just like the rest of yours. Out swimming like 4hrs before the lights come on and back in the sand by 5pm. I only get to see him in the weekends whem im not at work. Thank God for my wife that feeds it everyday.

If she will do it, it is best to feed multiple times while the fish is awake. What is she feeding? How frequently?

despite the constant harrasment from my yellow coris my leopard is still kicking strong. he seems plump too although i havent really seen him eat yet. im getting the smallest hook possible and hooking the coris out tmrw.

does your yellow coris burrows to sleep? If so, you could just observe it until you find out where it sleeps then scoop it out during the night.

Snorvich- I checked the package yesterday and it hikirai. Is there a differance as to what type of shrimp there fed. Im about to order some frozen food from drs foster and smith what kind of food is good for leopard wrasses. Thanks

All of my leopard wrasses eat PE mysis and do not especially like Hikari. The reason I asked, is that I want to make sure yours are actually eating.

they are selling the PE MYSIS at live aquaria now . they do however have a $24.95 fee for frozen foods and you would have to do a group buy to off set the extra cost but it is certainly worth it . the PE is the best IMO but it really is the cleanest . in cleanest i mean all you get is mysis shrimp 1/2" to 3/4" with no parts pieces or anything but the shrimp 100% intact .absolutely no waist and very nutritional ,i think its the best for the money . the only drawback would be if you are also depending for it to feed corals there isn't any smaller pieces for the fish to miss and the corals to eat .my wrasses and also other fish love it and i wont use anything but it .

I totally agree with iamwrasseman (Dave). I feed PE mysis (twice per day) and NLS marine pellets opportunistically.

the pe mysis clouds up my water compared to the hikari. thats how you know it's good. finally caught my yellow coris! going to let me leopard settle in for a while before i get a radiant and a couple other wrasse.

yes i also rinse and have no clouding at all .i also squeeze out the moisture lightly to remove any free water that can contaminate the water . just trying to feed the fish not the hair algae !
