Can you keep 6 of this along with other wrasses

Can you keep 6 of this along with other wrasses

I had a wierd experience with wrasse
my very large and fat sixline Wrasse 3"eat atleast one of my 2" thin yellow coris wrasse and while the coris wrasse was inside of the belly of the sixline wrasse it try to free itself by eating the sixline from the inside out.
I wish I took a picture but I seen a lot of evidence
anyway I don't want this to happen ever again because I lose 4 wrasse because of my ignorance.

Current wrasse list
4 of 3" yellow coris wrasse
3" cleaner wrasse more than 3 years old

wants to add
6 female leopard wrasse O

you need to be able to keep beginner fish first without issues before trying leopard wrasse.. I would suggest that you go through this thread thoroughly; and again.. I can't believe how many fish you have killed (or died in your care), you just keep adding more and do not seem to learn from your previous mistakes.. just my opinion..

I have a 5 +years old purple tang with me even all the move that I did
i had a bad batch of new Fish 12 tangs, 2 angels, few chromis from atlantic fish in Cerritos died less than a week after I got them and all of my old fish(mostly 3 years or older with me) survive and still thriving
thanks for your opinion.

I would like to get a leopard wrasse, either bipartitus or meleagris. Anyone have any opinion as to which is better, easier to care for? I keep hearing they are usually bad shippers and tend to die because of that then should I QT them or just straight to Display, thanks.

IMHO, those two fish are about the same, difficult at best.

I would read through this thread thoroughly before you make any attempt.

no QT, straight in tank, 3 treatments of prazi.

fine sand
all friendly tankmates
healthy pod population
live brine ready to roll (gut packed with Selcon)
PE mysis ready to roll

A Male Chaoti just got posted on Diver's Den.

Hey, for Choatis, I am running a 65g RedSea Max, I have a green Mandarin and Buterfly fish currently in there. They pick around all day, will adding a Leopard wrasse be too much?
I am going to culturing my own pods, but i am more concerned about the space.

congratulations tylt33 ! i wish you the best on your endeavor ! please keep us posted and also wait a couple of days to start with the picture taking as the flash could frighten them and add to there already stressful journey .
kmjoen230 i would say go for it but it would help if you get some live brine to begin with so they will have something live to start off with then switch them over to pe mysis .good luck as always !

Hey everyone! My boyfriend and i have, i believe a Macropharyngodon bipartitus and we have had it for about 5 months now and suddenly it has vanished. It appeared to be very healthy, constantly eating off rocks and sand, munching on seaweed that we put in for the tang, and even would eat the frozen food we would put in for the other fish. We noticed it was missing yesterday afternoon and still have yet to see it today. I am wondering if anyone knows of the fish having a habit of doing this every so often? Or of anything else that would cause this mysterious disapearing act?! Thanks so much everyone!

I didn't buy them, just wanted to let people know they were going up on Diver's Den tonight :) Best of luck to whomever got them!

hey Tylt ,sorry i thought that you got three . i did see one for sale tonite but will be waiting for some from my lfs as they are one quarter the price .
Aquablue36 , yes they can disappear for a few days for no reason and when first introduced they can for weeks and still be okay .with that being said are there any changes that you have made that may of frightened him or hurt him ? any new additions that may be bullying him ?just some food for thought as they are usually timid in the beginning but get quite bold with time once they figure out their setting .at this point i wouldn't worry but do be observant and also check the water parameters to be sure .

Aquablue have you check your overflows and the floor they are known jumpers. I also have a Macropharyngodon bipartitus been in my tank about 2 weeks. I got him eatting spectrum pellet guess he seen all the other fish eatting it and figured "Hey it much be good stuff"

I had one about 5 months, and when I added a MM Leopard it buried in the sand....................................toast............hopefully, nothing has spooked your fish, and she was eating well.
