ah its all just a rental when we take them from their homes and some should be left there where they are in their glory . i will probably try again but im hoping that the one that is left will be okay . you just never know i checked my peramiters and everything seems right on except nitrates that were at 15 ish but honestly they have been higher and imo thats not even a problem in any way what so ever . if anything would be effected by that it would be the corals and they actually are looking great . if thease fish were taken off the reef just for me i would opt not to order but we all contribute to the collection of fish that are better left alone so i will continue my collecting of thease awesome fish because of the joy this hobby brings us all . i like the dance mysterybox keep up the good moves !

awesome fish, hummm, you must be missing something, though. You treated with prazi 2x's correct? maybe try immune system like soaking all food in Selcon (no substitutions). What about bacteria and O2 deprivation? Just thinking outloud............

Ralph

thanks ralph cause we all can help here the prazi actually 4x in a month and a week . selcon is one of my religeous things so it gets used all the time .o2 ? the skimmer is bubbling like a pro so i think its not o2 . i do appreciate the ideas cause like i said every body can help . just one of thoes things ? i guess i will ck a couple of other things but i really dont know what to look for other than what i have done .

I am sorry to hear about your losses wrasseman. I agree that nitrates at 15 should not be a problem. My tank runs around 10 ish all the time, and the fish + corals all look fine. Maybe it is just a stress problem? I sure wish these fish easier to acclimate. I would love to try another, but I am hesitant even though mine is doing well.

you have to be a tightrope walker i guess , it really is a downer trying so hard to house such a fish and keep on losing the battle but they are just so beautiful that its hard to turn your back and give up . i think that they will be sought after again in the spring when my large tank is up and running .

OK, so I open the box up from DD, and surprise! WOW! This MM Leopard is just huge & gorgeous! I thought that I was getting a Choati, kinda glad now that I didn't with all the issues in keeping them to live. This guy is so much more beautiful anyway, IMHO.
now I have a pair!

looks great ,give him a break from that camera flash man . really nice catch . did they make a mistake ? you ordered a choati leopard and got him ? refund cause i know that choati was a few dollars more .do tell

Yeah, he is eating quite well. He decided to swim all day instead of taking to the sand. I fed him four times, I think my skimmer got overwhelmed! Lol.

Here's the deal on the mix up.

I had been bugging Kevin for months about getting a leopard in DD. And bugging more. He posted a few weeks ago that he would have a Choati released on DD soon, and reccomened a few other fish for me. So I ordered the Red Tail Flasher Wrasse from DD Thursday with a note to let me purchase the Leopard. They called me up on Friday stating that they would do a one time deal, they have a leopard, but I need to tell them now. Since my wrasse was already shipped, when would u want it? I said Tuesday. So Monday they called me to tell me the amount, it was $199.00. The same amount as the Choati. At that point I just assumed it was a Choati. ***, he's worth 199.00. Free shipping, too. I've never seen a fish so beautiful.

Yeah, I'll lay off the camera, but he's not skitish at all. I walk up to the tank and he comes up toward me. Thanks! Sorry if spelling errors, on phone.

Here are a few pics of my male M. bipartitus.

RIP mr. male bipartitus... He was out eating two days ago (I'd actually increased feedingsd a week or so ago, after noticing the muscles around the head not looking as full as before). He'd been eating PE mysis like they were candy... I've had him since 2/11/09. Sad day for me...

very very sorry to hear that ,hope all your others are well and always remember that we are taking nature from their homes and we do the best that we can and that know how to , no matter what sometimes thats simply not enough.

he was eating like a pig 3-4 times a day. PE mysis, Spirulina Brine, blah, blah, blah with Selcon, Garlic.................

On friday, he looked like these pics, so I decided to treat with focus/metro, but yesterday, he went to wrasse heaven.

I am treating all my remaining fish's food with focus/metro for 5 days, as a prevent.

Day 3 of treatment, and so far all fish look great including Female Leopard. 2 more days of focus/metro with food.

My red tailed flame had 3 small white patches (not ich) near it's dorsal fin, and they are gone today. He has a small hole in his back fin. Looks fine other that that. No symptoms other that that. Behavior all normal. I just don't want to sees any symptoms. That huge male wrase was eating like a king, all good quality food. Woke up with symptoms, dead. That quick.

sometimes you just never know whats really going on with thease guys ,all you can do is a visual check and see that they are eating and thats simply not enough to really know whats going on health wise . hope the flame repairs completely and you dont have any other unexpected losses .
Dave
