Thanks for everyone's input and encouragement!
I've got ich in my main tank right now so that is putting a hold on my leopard wrasse.
It is funny how when you think you are picking the "right" fish to find out that you didn't. I spoke with the LFS guy and when I bought my female leopard I passed on the male because he wasn't eating. Well, guess what, the male is still alive in a cubicle without sand and my little girl is gone.
My plan for the next time is actually trying to get several of them together to help the acclimation process. My thoughts are, and please chime in here, 1) juvenile and female leopard wrasses normally congregate in small groups in nature, 2) fish will observe the behavior of other fish and mimic them - if one in the group starts eating, that will encourage others to eat and vice versa, 3) if success rate is 1 out of 3, if I bite the bullet and buy four at once - maybe I'll be elevating my chance of A survival.
Leopard wrasses are so beautiful!
Let me know what your thoughts are?
