It took one week, but my meleagris is now eating prepared. First she took cyclopeeze, now mysis. Far easier keeping this fish than expected!
Congrats, I hope to have the same luck. Thankfully, my LFS orders from Quality Marine.

Although this is my first leopard wrasse, i definately believe its all about getting a good one and not letting it sit around at the store.

with any fish that are the same i believe its best to add both at the same time .

I currently have a single female melagris, I have had her for 2 years now, eats everything I feed...
When I got her I got 2 she was the smaller, both female, I lost the other one because of time, yes time, she would come out a lights out when the tank was (sleeping). I would have to turn the lights on and feed her very late at night,then I had a week of very late works hours in which I dint feed her and lost her.....so check your tanks at different hours event when the lights are out...

How do these fish do with anemones, particularly with carpet nems?

A buddy had the same experience.
I have a carpet nem and have never had a casualty. I've got a few fish and wrasses.

Had my female meleagris eating for a little over a week. And today she stopped. Showed interest in both cyclopeeze and mysis still, but didn't physically eat any. Anyone experience this? Bad times ahead? Did I jinx myself in my earlier post?!
Long story. Got a leopard wrasse and powder brown tang which I have in qt. My blk clown came down with ich. Now everyone is in 40 gal qt, PBT, leopard wrasse, melanurus wrasse, and two blk clowns.
My question is. My leopard wrasse is being harassed by the tang. I noticed today that his top fin and back fin have several spots missing. I was going to put a tank divider in, but was not able to find one big enough for a 40 breeder.
Is there any thing else I can do?

eggcrate can make a good divider if the fish are large enough not to swim through the holes. Good luck with the qt!

I think it was beginner's luck. It was my first time buying on DD. When I saw the sneak peak email, I registered DD a bit later. I signed in and still contemplating a bit and hit refresh a few times and bam there it is! I added it to the cart and checked out smoothly.

Sorry for haven't gone through every post in this thread. I have purchased an ornate leopard wrasse juvie and a potter leaopard wrasse juvie about 6 weeks ago. Purchased them both at a different time and had them both in my QT tank since. (setup with rocks and two tupperwares with sand in it) They have been eating great and adapting to their new surroundings.
I have learned to teach them to use the tupperware in the QT tank. (Putting the fish in the QT with an inverted container to confine them above the sandbed until they sleep there). And the last 6 weeks they've been going through my standard QT process. (Prazipro, cupramine etc) Soon they'll be going into my DT.
Lately I have observed that the two wrasses seems to have paired up. They swim together and hang out together all the time interacting with each other. Now after going through the 6 weeks QT process I am not sure if I should put them in the DT right away. I have quite a few wrasses in my DT including a melanrus wrasse and a regular female leopard wrasse. (180 gallon) I'm not sure if I should let them stay in my QT (4 feet 55 gallon) for a longer period so they could better bond with each other or just move them into my DT. I'm somewhat hoping they'll become a mated pair although I believe they are different species..
Any idea / input will be awesome. Thank you.

The fungus is among us.
I don't believe they'll become a "mated pair" if they're of different species. I've never heard of that with leopard wrasses and many have multiple species in the same tank. I don't think you're running much risk whichever way you go in terms of the health of the fish. If you want to try to encourage bonding by keeping them in the 55, go for it. See what happens.
