Leopard Wrasse Primer

I'm having an issue with my male Bipartitus. He's gradually losing weight. Strange because he eats just about everything in add to the tank, including NLS pellets. Two females and a Meleagris in the same tank, eating about the same, are fine. I'm thinking he must have intestinal worms, though I treated him with prazipro, and have never seen any sign of the string poop. Any thoughts chaps?

how many times a day are you feeding?
I'm a feeding maniac, got a bunch of anthias in the tank, so anywhere from 4-6 times per day.

feed some nutramar ova if you can get some (short supply, but a few lfs might have some still), live blackworms, and add Selcon to diet.
I would also treat my food every other day for like 10 days (5 treatments) Seachem metro and focus.

According to QM, it's due to a temp spike in Asia, however, I am also aware that there were complete shutdowns OG shrimp farming due to some major disease outbreaks. EMS has caused at least a 40% reduction in Worldwide Shrimp production and causing record prices. Again, I am not sure if that is related.
The last time they had it in production was November, I believe. After 2 months of searching for some, I found a lfs in Brooklyn that would shop to me here in GA, because one of my Anampses twistii will eat nothing but that and livenlackworms (since January, lol), albeit it's starting to nibble on shaved Mysis.
Doin well after 1 week in the tank!!!
45 min acclimation and straight into DT. Lfs said they had her for about 3 days and doin well.
Pickin at pods and did see her eat mysis once...a lil worried.
Haven't found her spot in the sand bed at night yet but comes out around 11am and grazes.
Are they known to pick at corals? One of my chalices got chewed up! I'm guessing its the new bicolor blenny I added.
Suggestions and tips on keepin her happy? Thanks!

Hi guys, beautiful fish I see coming around here. I also love my wrasses, currently have 5 (2x bipartitus, 2x choati, 1x negrosensis).
The thing is one of my Choatis is turning male, getting yellow stripes on his head, smallish fin on its back, less intense white and red (not sure if I like it better this way...). Should I be worried about it becoming aggressive towards my female Choati? Anybody here with experience on this?

Well, mine actually eat everything except pellets. So once per day I give them frozen and once per day they get flakes. Seems to work. How to get them to eat, I don't know, I just put them in the tank with the other fish and they found out themselves I guess.
This probably will not help you but I would just make sure you feed your (other) fish a varied diet and your wrasses will probably pick it up.

Give it time; it will come around. My female M. bipartitus eats everything except pellets. She goes crazy for nori, fighting for her share with my Tansg and Foxface. My M. choati eats anything meaty, Mysis, plankton, scallops, etc. It will also eat 0.5mm pellets, but won't touch nori.
For Mysis, try PE and/or Hikari. If it won't eat one, try the other. Eventually it won't be picky at all

How do I change this?
What type of sand is best? What grain size? I tried searching the thread but no luck, and "small sized" doesn't do much good as sand in the stores is generally not labeled that way. Bimini pink, samoa pink, sugar, oolite, HD playground? Smaller than 1mm or bigger? The sand in the tank will be specifically for the wrasse so I'll go with whatever is ideal. Thanks in advance

That which is specific for wrasse generally doesn't fare well with high flow SPS systems. I would go with reef flakes
I have been able to sucessfully acclimate 5 out of 6 leopard wrasses (got a potters arriving tomorrow) recently and with the exception of one black which wouldn't eat at all, the others have all taken spirulina brine initially, and hikari mysis soon after. My Meleagris and male Bipart also eat pellets.
