I'm back w/ quite a bit of wood and some other odds and ends. Hope to get cleaned up and some framing done.

I rememebr some time ago a guy responded to the suggestion of an in-wall by writing that he had just bought his house and didn't want to put any holes in the walls. And I replied that's the whole reason WHY you buy a house...so you CAN put holes in the walls. Otherwise we'd all be renting right?
Shoot, I rent and still put holes in walls :D

jnarowe - Good to know. I'll trust my bosses calculations

Well ALL the walls are gone!!! That piece of plywood is 4x4 same size as the tank. This will be close to the actual placing of the tank. The side to our right and closes to us will be viewable. Size closest to the wall will be a walking access area so that my short arms can reach that side to rearrange. It will be only about 15" or so from the wall??

I am standing on the steps in this pick. You will see the tank right when you come down the stairs and the rest of the room will be couch and TV not the junk in there now :D

Off to redo the wall for the bedroom. Won't work on the tankroom today but will have to move the tank out of the bedroom before we frame so I'll try to get a shot of it where it will go.

I would give yourself 24" of space between the tank and the wall. Narrow areas suck, and you'll either avoid using it or fill it with clutter.

jnarowe - We have ripped down EVERY interior wall except the bathroom :D

melev - I measured and it was at 24". I'll do 22" just to give enough room between the tank and the door.

Looks like you are having fun now. When you see wires hanging from the ceiling you know this is getting serious. :)

jnarowe - you are like my biggest poster in this thread. No one else loves me :D

Shameless cry for attention...:rolleye1:
Listen up Nancy Boy, not everyone here has the time to hold you're hand and tell its going to be all right when you start to get nervous about something. Time to be a big boy now Eric.....

:D

JK Eric,
You're doing an amazing amount of work here on this build, even in the early stages....which is completely in character for you. Anyone who shoehorn a 400watt bulb over a 20H, then "graduate" to dual 400's over a 58 is really serious about how they do things in this hobby.
Impressive work Eric, keep it up.
Nick

PS tried to post this earlier and the freakin server wouldnt let me....
sigh.

FFrankie - Yeah there are outlets and light switches hanging in a few places where there used to be rooms :D Good thing I have electrictian friends to come and help me rewire it all

maxxII - I was wondering where you have been? Eating too many donuts at the coffee shop huh :D Yeah it has been a trip. Riping out every wall seem pointless but it will lay the basement out better and best part is that I will get my tank in there! My big tank! Funny thing is the wife said it was small for a reef compared to what most people run.

Yeah what is up w/ the server? Seems like I can post on anyone else's thread but mine it doesn't like.

I have some more pics of progress. Back in a few

PICS!!

Tank was drug out of the room that it was in to the location of it's final resting place. It was too heavy to lift for me and the wife and it made more sense to get it out of the room before we had to take it all off of the stand and tip it sideways and move the stand put tank back on top

Me w/ the tank

View from where the tank used to sit in what will be a bedroom. The wall got framed up after the pic was taken
IMG_5040.JPG

View right when you come down the stairs. Sorry about the mess but like I said we ripped out every room and interior wall so not much place to put anything. Tomorrow we are going to pick up and organize.
IMG_5045.JPG

That wall that we were looking through in the pic earlier all framed up w/ 2x6's to close in the posts YIPPIE!
IMG_5063.JPG

Same wall. Will probably have a couch on this wall for a great view of the tank

Great progress today. I can't wait for this chaos to be over. This disorganized state sucks

and none of those walls were load bearing???

Only have one beam going down the length of the house. Has two posts in it...the ones I was trying to work around. Other then that all the other walls went w/ the beams and were not load bearing. The 3 posts are all that holds the beam up. I encased two of those posts in the wall for the bed room like they were before. This time w/ 2x6's to hide them instead of the 2x4 walls that they had so the posts showed through the rock

Well, I already did. <urp> yeah youl ook a little too healthy in that pick. You need some Ding Dongs man!

I ate doritos, a caramel roll, and a bowl of ice cream today :D Weekends I don't watch what I eat very well especially if I'm working on stuff.

Ho hos or hostess cupcakes are better then ding dongs
