m0nkie's 560gal

I can't decide if I should buy 500gal worth of CUC right now.. or only buy half of that...

I plan to do a full 90 day QT inside the display tank for this CUC.

If i buy the whole 500gal worth, I may lose quite abit through out the months..
If i buy only 100gal worth, I will need to set up another QT later on for another 90 days QT..

decisions decisions

perhaps buy 600-700 gallons worth to hedge against future losses and QT them all at once?

I would by the 500g and just feed the CUC. Maybe keep the flow low so when you feed the CUC, it won't float around?

ok. I'm going to get my first order through reef cleaners. I'm sure I'll be receiving a million of those tiny cerith.. they make good CUC, just impossible to keep track of..

cerith snails
large florida cerith snails
nassarius snails
togan nassarius snails
turbo snails
conchs
shrimps

and whatever interesting I find at RAP.

thanks!

Photobucket is having so much issue lately.. trying out google photo.

Got the Rollermat hooked up. Not much to clean so it's off, but the plumbing is done. The intake was reduced to 19mm as recommended for separate pump. Output remained 40mm. Connected with a 30w Jebao DC pump which pumps out the recommended output at 90%.

I'm not sure if it works with the output completely submerged under water. It seems fine. 100% quiet. I don't have detritus to test out.

I have the sump designed so that the baffle after Rollermat traps all the detritus in that section. Water overflows from the top. easier to maintenance. This will be the most often cleaned spot.

I kind of laughed when you mentioned it looked like roll of toilet paper and after seeing it setup, it really does look like a role of toilet paper. lol..

imgur.com is the best photo hosting site by a LOT. Lots of room, doesn't lag, almost never has downtime or issues.

I can't understand why the reefing community uses photobucket. That stuff is like, 56k dial up era.

Move on RC!

Don't spend too much money on a cuc. My tank has a few nassarius snails, couple conchs, and that's about it. Cuc is a joke, they all end up dying

I've tried using other hosting sites, and none of them seem to work as easily as Photobucket. I know photographers say Photobucket sucks, but I just can't get any other hosting sites to work as easily

Really? For me it couldn't be easier! Super easy on the phone App or on the computer. Super simple drop down menu to change size of picture with explanation of which monitor size it's good for.

testing imgur.. seems like the direct image link they provide cannot be uploaded here. I have to copy image address (which adds .jpg at the end) for it to work.

still.. easy enough I guess. thanks!

When you click on the photo, you want to try the BBCode which is for message boards.

Direct click on "BBCode" = Link Copied immediately, pasted here, and photo

ahh gotcha! didn't see that little arrow with more options

Yep. I get that lots of places are stuck in their own groove but everytime I try and use photobucket it freaks out on me. love imgur, super lightweight, snappy, easily change image size as uploaded.

not much going on with the tank... nitrite is still crazy high at 5+.. also waiting on AA to finish making the rest of my equipment

stocking up more and more corals in the QT.

Anyone know what I can use to hand wipe the glass? magnets aren't the best options with these racks all over the place. I've seen shops use rag of some type. or some sheet.. not sure what though

This is what we use Tony. You can get it at any grocery store or even walmart. If you get two, take the sponge out of one to use in tight spots. It works so well that i was able to wipe hard coraline off acrylic without scratching.
