man, that skimmer is sick!

Thanks Tim, but I still love your dual skimmer setup :p

lol In my new setup the stand will have a ton of room around the sump... I think if I did get an H&S I'd have to go external because the euro brace on my sump cuts down the opening too much lol

I dip everything ;) I dip my chalices in a shorter levamisole dip and follow it up with revive.

Congrats on the aspera.

Rob, That is the feed line and I will start to tune it tomorrow. It is just beginning to get those nice foam bubbles :p

And, the intake of the eheim is the lower of the two and the bubbles from the drain line should not alter the performance as long as there is not any surging from the drain line.

Are you running that guy in-sump? Is that your long term plan?

Yep. Drain fed in the sump :D

Cool deal. Let me know if you come up with any best practices for drain fed. I did it once on an ASMG1X on a frag tank, and had some surging issues that, while not problematic, were not ideal.

To limit surging, you need to tee off of your drain. I then Tee'd it of for the feed again, thus no surging ;)

After both of them, that way I control the output into the sump and into my filter sock.

In the picture above, The tee that feeds the skimmer is the second tee. The BV is to the left of that. HTH

Well, After adding my back up Phosban reactor with some rowa, and water changes on Tues and Friday, I tested again this morning and things are coming down. :) One of my concerns is going to be the residual effects of having it so high and then getting it back down so quick.

Well the residual effects are that my corals are "browning" by my standards :( They are still coming down a bit. A week later...

Looks great bro!! No prob!!

I'm glad I could help!

Jim

great skimmer!!! I used to run a A200 2x1260....then switched to a BK 300Int...now I am back in the H&S camp w/ a 250 2x1260Int. You just can't beat the H&S for performance/value and service :) . Now they add the silencer....forget about it :D . I'll get that on my next shipment from Brian :)

What is the target reading on the Po4? Did you have any HA issues?

Chad

Thanks Chad. I know what you mean on ths H&S value and performance. They are hard to beat. I was amazed about how much difference the silencer made :p

My target range is <.04. I have been fighting some HA. I started noticing it when I had my rust issue, but I have seen my magnificent foxface start to eat it of late. To help him out, I also have two pygmy sea hares and a urchin as well.
