tank looks awesome mark. bravo..

your photos have been a great inspiration for the sudden decline of my account balances. photography equipment was definitely absent from my original build budget :)..

Thanks Jason, The photography part of the hobby has been an added benefit. I look at the tank thinking of the viewfinder. Sometimes and the attention to deatil sometimes is a good thing, but others its a bit frustrating.

Are you still shooting with the macro or have you converted to mostly the 1.8? Sweet shot.

most of the corals were shot with the macro and if the picture has a fish in it, then it was with the 50mm. I took about 60 shots that day between the two lenses.

Mark, what do you set (f-stop/iso) your camera at to photograph the fishes? I tried last night and got a bunch of blurry blobs. Any tips?

I shoot them on p mode with a 400 iso. What lens are you shooting with? I upgraded just so I could shoot fish a bit easier :)

I got a Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens about a month ago and have been playing with it. I get OK (at least better than point and shoot) still shots but fish have been completely puzzling me.

Dan, don't try shooting the fish with the macro. The focusing is too slow, at least from what I can tell. Use the stock lens or better yet, get the 55/1.8, which I am doing soon.

If you do use the macro, you can take pics in the Manual setting and change your shutter speed faster so that you don't get as much blur... You just have to make sure to have adequate lighting so the pictures don't turn out too dark... :)

Like that last one too Mark...

Your picture just keep getting better and better!!!

Great Shot of the CQuarium. It is one of my favorite stags. you just dont see the pastel colors it has too often, but it makes it very hard for me to photograph!

Oh, by the way... You were spot on w/ the Inland!!! That thing is incredible...Besides the fact that my challices are now half there size!!!

Thanks Ryan, Its definitely one of those corals that is very hard to get the correct color out of it. When its happy and the pastels come through with the purple tips, its an awesome coral.

This has to one of the most overrated fish in the hobby. I saw one a couple weeks ago that was 5" I will never get another one, thats for sure

I agree! I saw one at a LFS that was bigger than that ... good pan frying size! Scared the crap out of me for adding the pair I have in my systems sump to any tank! They can get mean too!

Good morning Mark, Got my tickets for the Steinhart (for Thursday), any tips of things I should check out there? I know that you're in Sac-town but any recommendations of LFS that I could "accidently" stumble across while I'm up there? We're driving up so anything south of the city is fair game. I'm thinking maybe Atlantis.
