LOL, no worries. I've done the Long Island hangovers before (blue please); I don't wish that on anyone.

Also interested in any updates...

Definitely an unusual scenario.
One, you've got a domino that didn't get evicted for bad behaviour, and judging by gold on marron, she aint young or small, so that is a pretty big domino IMO.
I would expect a GSM that big to be female by now, yet the domino way outsizes her, and thats weird too, cause the male/mate is always alot smaller than the female.
Hopefully someone really experienced in breeding chimes in, but this is a new one for me.
And I thought my maroon sharing her nem w/ 6 chromis was weird.

male and female dominos are the same size, they can change colour during courtship ti a grey shade and then instanly change back its called nuptual colouring, they also chirp alot when breeding and spawning.

I can't really see if the eggs are still there. The anenome is deflated in the pic with the eggs and only partially expanded in the video. It's completely reinflated now and covering the area where the egg are/were.

I've had the Domino for two and a half years and got him when he was very small. The clown was also very small when I got her 25 months ago. The Domino is the larger of the two. The clown is now much bigger than it is in the above pic where the Domino is laying down in the anenome, that's an old pic.

My tank is heavily fed and always has been. I only have four fish, but I feed them at least 3 to 4 times a day.

I'll post later if I can tell if the eggs are still there.

So, is the general consensus that it is common or uncommon for clowns to lay eggs in captivity in the absence of a male clown? That was the main thing I was intrigued about.

I'm not sure how common this is myself.
I haven't heard about this in my 25 years of keeping SW tanks, and always had clowns.
Though I admit, I've pretty much always had pairs, as most do.
I been reading here alot the last 4 years, first time it's come to my attention.
I'm sure it happens, maybe just depends on your definition of common.
Either way, good for you, and let us know how all goes.

I have run across 3 laying singles in the last year. But of course, I am looking for spawning clowns daily ......Back to the thread.....Update?

Please give us an update. Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please.

they are from different generas but same family so who knows it MIGHT be possible. Doubtful but maybe. King and corn snakes can breed and they are different genera, even have viable offspring which is a rarity for crossbred generas.

In nature.....Surprise is the normal.Look at the deep sea.We are surprised. When we look micro...we are surprised. When we look out into the universe....We are surprised.God is Surprising, so is His creation.

That has to to be the biggest domino i have ever seen. And i though mine were big be4 i got rid of them and they were the size of pit from a peach.

Not much to update. The anenome expanded the next day obscuring the eggs and the next time it deflated, which was several days later, I could see that the eggs were gone.

I never expected anything more than that. Without a male clown to fertilize them they were probably gone within 2 or 3 days max. I just thought the whole event was pretty cool since I never expected to see clown eggs in a tank with only one clown.

Here's a picture I took last week.
