Minimalist Aquascaping

Adrienne, you should post a picture of your tank! ;)

..nanoedge, those look like Achilles Tangs. (Beautiful, but tough fish to keep alive, generally)

i second them not bein meant for the home aquaria, unless you have a large mature and disease free system, though very few truely have that... though i love them they are amazing

Just did a quick google search there and said 100gallon is enough although I have a 300 gallon would this be enough 3 months running though anyone keep these

My wife found this online

100 gallons is not anywhere NEAR large enough for these fish, IMO.

(Take a read at the Reef Fishes forum on RC for tons of information. I believe there is a sticky)

Fireworm, yes to both those questions, from what I've seen, read, and done myself. Also, I've heard of people using acrylic rods and/or plastic coat hangers. They drill holes in the live rock.

LocTite Epoxy is the best IMO. Use more than you think you'll need. Later, when you bump your favorite overhang and the whole rock leans.... then goes right back, you'll be glad you did.

Thanks guys.... I appreciate it. I would like to redo mine, just not sure if I want to take all the rock out and redo it again and go through disturbing all the corals.

First of all Great Thread!
The way my tank is situated I'll have two primary viewing angles, front and right side (end). Many tanks I see hear tend to "slope" down from left to right anyway, do you think that is by coincidence?
I'm upgrading from a 72 bf to a 150 so and have been watching this thread very closely as I really like this look. I think I already have enought rock (90lbs) and was thinking of larger cascading formation on the left veering to the right then a smaller formation on the right. Both would begin at the overflows and will allow free access to all the back glass. Another point on these designs, keeping the back glass clean (which I don't do now) I'm getting anxious for the swap.

I just set up my 38 Gallon reef tank. (My first one ever) and I love the look of the minimalistic aquascape so I tried to do my best.

My stock plan is shown here
Green Arrow- LPS Island
Blue Arrow- Zoa Point
Red Arrow- Two different Monti
The right island will be SPS.

O.K heres an update of mine started out as a minimalistic tank but Kinda strayed a little I think.
It still looks minimalist to me, but if you could move the cap to the left or the right it might help separate the islands a little bit. I LOVE that brain on the sandbed!
