Mo's 6ftx8ftx3ft SPS Reef Tank

Last question mo. Have you or do you plan on doing any water testing at triton. I ask cause of some the unusual test results coming back from some of these salts.

Are you kidding me? How have I missed this tank? This proves I'm a self-centered idiot. Mo, your reef and corals are truly inspiring! If you decide to frag the Ice Fire Ech let me know.

Have you been a TOTM yet because you darn well deserve it!!

Thanks for sharing.

Hi guys,

Been busy, so not much time to take photos.
The tank has been running with ATI Hybrids for the last six months.
I also use the Aquaforest system- supplements and probiotic salt. They really have made a huge difference.

Please excuse the fish trap. After 4 years, my copperband has decided to eat some scans whilst I was away. Going to catch him for the sin bin!

Thanks Guys

The Hybrids are here

There are six fixtures, covering the tank.
There are 4x4ft and 2x3ft models.
I have them 10" above the water. I would have liked them higher, for maintenance reasons, but that's as high as I can get them.

I run Blue and Royal Blue/ Violet LEDs ramping up to 35% only. They run from 10AM to 11pm.

I run 2 ATI Actinic, 1 Coral+, 1 Aq Blue Special, 1 Purple Plus and 3 Blue+ tubes per fixture. They run for 8 hours, but currently at 80%. I am ramping them up to 100% slowly.

Mo, Ive seen lots of awesome tanks in my years but your tank just makes my jaw drop everytime I see pictures. Such an awesome tank man!!! I cringe a little when I think of changing all those T5 bulbs though :uhoh3: I dont even like changing 8

Got anymore details on this Aquaforest system or can you point me in the right direction to read more?

moser - that is absolutely incredible, and what's even better is that you're in the UK! where are you based?
out of interest - what are your tactics for scaping? ie - how do you get corals in and out? bearing in mind it's 6ft - i'm picturing you in a wetsuit? i am sick of gluing coral in my 3 foot deep tank let alone 6 feet....

amazing!

Thanks guys,

I'll try and get more pics up on this thread....

I believe that it's actually 8 ft front to back...and 6' side to side

Changing tubes takes an hour or so.
I can wheel out two fixtures at a time, so it's not too much of a problem.
Experimenting with tubes can be a pain though, but I think Im happy with the mix I have now"¦.

You can check Aquaforest on their .eu website or google it.
All of their supplements are listed- happy to discuss the ones I've used.
Their salt is great too.

This tank is stunning!

Thanks!

I used 100% ceramic rocks from Korallenwelt.

The tank is 8ft front to back. I tried to place most corals around the sides and back, so easier access"¦.
