Mo's 6ftx8ftx3ft SPS Reef Tank

Definite movie material. ;)

Just a thought: have you considered some sort of light closer to the front pane so that fish near the glass aren't always so strongly back-lit?

Thanks Dave,

I will do at some stage.
I have 400W radiums right up to the glass- or very close, but most photos are taken with blue tubes. This shot has some white/ pink tubes compared to usual.
When the halides are on during the day, there are too many reflections on the front glass to get decent photos.

To get the whole tank in, I need to take a shot about 20ft away. I can focus at the front of the tank, or at the back.
I guess there is a lens to get a greater depth of field, which would get everything in focus…. not sure which though.

I'm thinking of switching to a T5/ LED Hybrid. You can see how a pink tube brings out the pink hyacinthus on the right, so the T5 colour options are very appealing to me….

Some of the newer LEDs have a much broader spectrum (e.g. Orphek). Maybe that would be an option instead of T5s.

Amazingly beautiful as usual.

My tank is 3 years old and I just can't keep up with nitrates and phosphate with water changes only. I really don't want to use a fish trap to solve this. I have 16 tangs. I just ordered a Reef Dynamics BPR1000E Bio-Pellet reactor. I've heard many horror stories about bio reactors. I use BFS GFO but this is very costly for me.
