Mo's 6ftx8ftx3ft SPS Reef Tank

I'm slowly ramping up the new tubes and as it was dark outside, I managed to get a shot without any reflections.

Keen observers will see that I tried to move some coral on the right at the back.
I have a few duplicated corals that I want to move on and free up some space.
The trouble is, I knocked over a rock, that tumbled onto the big Green Aussie Abro stag in the middle.
That toppled over and it took me almost two hours to reposition it. I couldnt glue/ putty it back, so in the end, I cable tied it in place.

The joys of keeping a large reef tank!. I have browned the stag a little now, but hopefully it will pick up again.
At least I have some space to add a couple of new corals!!

Truly breathtaking! What a shot

Moser,
First off, incredible tank! Hands down amazing! Thats the type of tank I dream of owning one day.
Secondly I see you use Aquaforest products. My LFS here in the US just picked them up and I bought majority of the line-up to begin using in my tank. I was wondering if you might be able to give some insight into your experiences with them. How long have you used them and what changes did you see in your corals after beginning the program?

Absolutely stunning tank. Can you share your choice of bulbs, I am in the process or ordering new bulbs. Thanks

This tank is rediculous (in a good way), very nice setup. How much did that base rock that you used at the start cost you?

Thanks guys,

Aquaforest products have been really good for me.

I have 100L of Siporax in my sump for several years already, so I started dosing at half recommended, just to get the tank used to the products.

After a few weeks, things seemed OK, so I increased the doses.
At full dose, my iodine levels on d&d test kit were too high, so I now do half dose of iodine, which seems fine.

For the coral a,v,e,b I have now increased to full dose, but a and v are actually at 25% more.
This seems to keep the corals happy with no nuisance algae or slime build up.

T5 tubes were changed on my ATI Hybrids over Xmas.
I have 4blue+, 2 coral+,2 actinic.
I run mostly blue on the LEDs too about 30% max. A tinge of white. No red.

Cheers
Mo

Still running Aquaforest. The stags are getting too big and shading out their bases.
I think the one front left will topple soon. The one far back right fell over, but carried on growing on its side.
I moved part of the big green Abro in the middle of the tank. Some of it is front left. I put some new small colonies in where it was.

I will likely move out the big stag and the milk stylo, so I can add some new colonies to grow out...
