They probably did buy it in BULK. They said that it is silcone hose so it will stand up to OZONE which is the reason they went with that hose. They probaby realize now that they should have went with different hose but are stuck.

The cones come with a thicker walled silicone tubing. Looks exactly the same just thicker walled and doesnt kink nearly as easily. Much better tubing for the application. They should just charge the little bit extra and include the thicker walled tubing that they send with the cones.

Devils advocate... If they included the better hose, would we all then complain about the length and end up still switching to our own? Seems like we all like to tweak anyways.

msx250 optimal sump depth

msx250 optimal sump depth

Hey guys I got my new MSX250 on Friday!
What is the MSX250 optimal sump depth.
I put it directly in the sump without break in because my other(recirculating) skimmer had died.
Currently it is in 11 inches of water.
Also, how long does it take to "break in".

I was dreaming of my next skimmer the other night as saw a similar set up on a BK...

I need to get off my backside and get that askoll ordered for mine:lol:

Although my 200 is working great, there is always room for improvement.

The askoll is probably too much for the 200. But you can get them on the MS website.

IMO, the 200 is not a good match for an Askoll pump. The body/neck is too small.

Increases SCFH up to 29.6! Suitable for all protein skimmers using the Sicce 2500 pump. Increases your skimmers performance without the potential annoying restart issues of a mesh wheel.

More effective and reliable than a mesh wheel. This is the best performing Sicce impeller available.

I'm running one, and I am extremely happy with it. I posted a review a page or two ago.

I've seen some posts that the large PPW can have startup issues. Anyone have any input?

Mine starts right up but I talked to another guy that had issues with startup, he was getting 35scfh on an MSXmini cone with it.

I think the problems are with stock Sicce Volute. I'm sure they work great with the ATB volute.
