For some reason, tapatalk with pictures usually don't show when using a browser.

What kind of sand are you using? Is the Herbie pretty quiet for you?

I'm using some caribsea sand I got from Jim's. It's a little smaller than uncooked rice.

Herbie is dead silent.

Looking awesome!

Just a quick tip for you since we both have the exact same fixture:

To fix the sagging acrylic, i cooked up these contraptions:

Cut up battery cover.

And for the other side: I cut up an old Iphone 4 cover:

Awesome tank! I'm thinking of getting the same size tank, so it'll be interesting to see how this looks with fish and corals :) Are you going with a mixed reef?

Thanks for the tip. I have some acrylic sheet in the garage and a heat gun so I'll try to make these myself. This is obviously a design flaw that has been in existence for quite some time with these fixtures. Makes me wonder why ATI never fixes it. It's probably only pennies to fix for them.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yes I am going with a mixed reef but primarily SPS. I love the dimensions so far. Will be slowly stocking it over the next week or 2 starting with some stuff from Shirley. 😃

Short update. Slowly stocking the tank up with frags. Got a handful of SPS, LPS and zoa frags from both Shirley and Brian.

Also got a pair of percula clowns from Lawrence.

Thanks for hookin' me up!

Hooked up the 2-part dosers last weekend and everything has been testing spot on.

Now i'm in search of a rainbow BTA for the clowns. If anyone has one available, please let me know!!

I did know your looking for rainbow anemone too, I could have send some too :)
But try to get one from Carl ( Reefski ) his OG rose is bright.
I got one my OG rose from my friend officer oscar, his was incredibly bright.

If you want true rainbow try Shirley, she might have a clone its very bright too.
It was a bright yellow with neon green based in my tank but morph in her tank to 5 colors
Yellow, orange, red and pinkish color with greenish base at least from the last time I saw it.

Look really nice beside the electrical lol so crammed in their and wires all over the place but besides that the build looks sweet

Ok. Another late update.

Last Saturday Pierce contacted me and asked if i wanted any frags. Not being one to refuse frags I told him i would be over later in the day. A couple hours later i found myself walking out of his house with 27 frags.
I spent the next hour at home gluing everything down.
Its been almost 1 week and everything is looking great. Amazing polyp extension and colors have not shifted one bit.

Oh yeah, I also happened to see an ATB 840 V2 skimmer in his garage not being used so i picked that up as well for an amazing deal.
The next morning i pulled out the new skimmer and began putting it together. When i fired it up, it seemed to chatter a little bit with the Sicce PSK1000 pump. I took apart the pump and noticed that one of the ceramic bearings was cracked and a piece missing. I promptly contacted ATB support (Chad) and he sent me out a replacement piece the same day for no charge. The next day the piece came in the mail (he is local to me, thankfully) and i'm happy to say that i'm a proud owner of an awesome ATB skimmer.
Thanks to Chad for the amazing ATB customer service. In case anyone doubted ATB's customer service in the last few months, I wouldn't. Sounds like their reputation for customer service will not skip a beat.

On Monday i also picked up a rainbow BTA from a local reefer. As soon as i placed him into the tank the clowns took to it immediately.

So far so good. The tank is slowly filling in and i know its just a matter of time before i have to start tossing or giving away frags again to return the good reefer karma.

I'll post some pics shortly.
