My 240g FOWLR

I may have missed it, but what lights do you run? Tank is perfectly illuminated.

Thanks... it's just 2 pairs of T5's. I want to say the back ones are Blue special? Blue plus? It's been years and I don't quite remember the name :o The Fiji Purples in the front are the real stars though... they really bring out the color of the fish. They are kind of pricey for t5 bulbs, but worth it, IMO.

Ok so you are not worried about old bulbs causing algae growth etc.? I am serting my fowlr and was thinking about old bulbs.

Not particularly, but I also don't mind algae on the rocks... the angels and tangs eat it. I don't have any fake corals so nothing really to keep algae free. I do clean the glass of course. I also grow algae in a fuge.

Ohh yeah I want to have some butterfly fish and small angels in my 100fowlr so I will not mind some algae on the rocks. No fake corals for me neither.

I do not rememeber if I asked you already.
Do you run any po4 remover in reactor or sock?
The same question about carbon?

I run carbon periodically. I don't use phosphate removers. I grow algae in a fuge though.

Whats the resason for running carbon periodically?
Do you believe its unhealthy for fish in a long run?
Was thinking what I want to put in my BRS double reactor, can only run rowa or other remover, but I was always running carbon in my reefs.
I do not have space in my small sump to grow macroalgae there. Barely can fit pump, skimmer, and ato, heater.

My brother lives in San Diego and I'm trying to plan a visit out there just not sure when. What I'd like to ask you Peter is if I could come by and see your tank? I love angels and butterflies and at one time had a 200 with mostly butterflies and many different ones. Anyway I'd really love to see your tank if it's possible.

Thanks,
Dave

Oh man! Sorry to hear about your chrysurus. That is such a cool and unique species.

Thanks. Yeah... finding a dry fish between the tank and light diffuser wasn't great :(

Damn pity. I just sold my Chrysurus. Was about 30cm. When I picked it up you could actually feel the heart beating. They're stunning fish.

A face only a mother could love :)
