My 30G Cube Money Pit

No other Oceanic 30C comes close in comparison to yours. Great job.

BTW, are you a Naval Aviator? I hope to be one when I am older.

Thanks for the comments. I am itching to get livestock in there but I need to let it cycle and I am fish tank poor.

I actually retired back in February from the Navy. I flew a few different aircraft, the T-34, T-2, T45C, S-3 Viking, and more recently the F/A-18 Hornet. Even though my flying days are behind me I teach simulators for the Hornet and Super Hornet at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach. Beats working for a living :)

Sounds like a cool job. I was in the army for a while but didn't do anything like that. I live near VA beach too but near Richmond. :)

Very nice choice on the live rock. Your aquascaping will allow a good view from all three sides. Like the caves.

A little update on the system. Everything has been up and running with no problems except some microbubbles coming from the closed loop. I think the pump is too much for it so am going with a smaller pump. Hoping this fixes it.Any ideas would be great.

Also swapped out the Urchin for a Deltec MC500. I have upgrade disease.

Added a Pacific Coast Imports 1/10 HP chiller and tank is steady at 79 degrees.

Evap has been an issue so a JBJ Top Off has been added to the system as well. Once again the goal is to be as automated as possible.

Now livestock has finally been added as well. I am a big fan of "flowy" corals so I have a nice mushroom leather and a descent size hammer as well. Of course I have a percula clown and you will never believe my daughter named him Nemo. I was planning on adding some pics but my wife took the camera for the weekend so they will come this week.

Don't you just hate the upgrade bug :D

You will have to let me know how the chiller works out for you over the next month or so. Any updated shots of the tank?

Looks great navy. I have a 30 cube also and love it, great little tank!
My bro flies Harriers for the Corp. Had some good stories for me when he got back.

Here are some updated tank shots as well as my somewhat new sump setup. Most importantly a shot of my lone warrior clown fish.

Thought I would let you know that you can disable the alarms on the jbj auto topoff. I read above that you were worried about how loud it was.
-Also I'm getting ready to start the plumbing on my oceanic 37, and am considering the quiet one 4000 for return pump. The head will only be about 3 feet. Have you had any problems with this pump so far?
