My collection of Heteractis magnificas

Well it's about time I start a thread. I have been keeping this species for many years. I now have 4 in my collection.
2 from the Red Sea (red base)
1 African collected from Kenya (magenta base)
1 collected out of Sri Lanka (solid purple base with purple tenticals with green tips)

I am 100 percent confident on where these anemones have been collected due to building many years of rapport with direct importers and wholesale/collectors.

Pictures to follow! Also on a side note my one Sri Lanka mag is going to split any day now. Fingers crossed it's soon.

Please feel free to ask any questions. I have been successful with propagating this species as well but that is for another time. Due to my new job demands (financial industry) updates may be delayed a few days.

That's awesome Antonio! Looking forward to your pictures. I like mags myself, and current have 4 at my house. Please post pics soon...

Can you try and get some pics of the split. would be interesting to see.
 
You guys are funny. The pictures won't be the best due to me taking them on an iPhone.
Anyone know any tricks?

So my supplier just called me and he got some blue base mags in, should I get another? That would be number 5? Hmmmm

Oh and last night my newest mag decided to walk into my power head, it had the foam guard on but it still was damaged a bit. I had to do a water change at 2 in the morning! Fun stuff.
 
My sri Lanka walked into a covered power head. Tore half of it to crap. Knew it wouldn't make it with the damage. So I cut it. 3days after the cut and inflated and round still. Was a last ditch effort as half of it was destroyed and half was decent.

Mine had a fight with a lettuce nudibranch. I guess the slug was quite protected by its venomous slime so it escaped

where did you get those fantastic suppliers? I've asked my lfs for months but they still got nothin for me

I vote to get a 5th....blue base sounds real nice.

Can you take a pic of your foam guards? I need to invest..

Btw, I just dropped and african bright red base on the hard floor and it was fully inflated with water. Was about to put him in the DT and splat!! The impact blew half of the ends of his tentacles out. What a bummer. This was the same mag that was battling a flesh wound from getting sucked up into an aquaclear 30. I had the down pipe off and it sucked him almost to the impeller.
 
Yeah, not to side track your thread, but I'd like to hear about the foam guards too. I have made a few, but they always ruin the flow. And yes you should definitely get the blue
 
I will get back to everyone tomorrow with pictures.

In the mean time I have 2 mags coming from the Maldives tomorrow . Score!!!!

Did I mention I'm working full time and going to grad school? I have Easter break this week so I will try and get Ed over to take some pictures.
I also forgot I'm getting 50 Ricodria in today, bday present to myself. ��
