Why aren't some of the current conclusions drawn up in a sticky???
It was done, just not worthy of a sticky I guess.

After going through this myself I wonder if the fish aren't often misdiagnosed? Bacterial instead of parasite for instance.
please post the process of using the New Life Spectrum Ich Shield in the powder. I just got it and plan to work on the flame angel and wrasse. I'm afraid that the wrasse will have problem with it.

I'm sure it happens from time to time, but a Cryptocaryon infection has very specific symptoms that are usually quite obvious (e.g. white "salt sprinkles," flashing, rapid respiration etc.)
Look back a few pages, someone had a online source that seemed legit. I just got the New Life Spectrum Ich Shield in the powder for and started using it 2 days ago.
Any comments on the New Life Spectrum Ich Shield?
Not sure how many have used CP with Regals before but I had a Red Sea that was eating well and started CP (1/2 dose 1st day, followed by the other half the following day) the fish showed signs of stress yesterday evening and was dead this am. TT for me on any regal in the future...
A little tangent but I thought I'll throw this out - this is a 150G FOWLR tank I put 10mg/l CP in 5 months ago when the tank got started, and didn't removed it.

I have never cleaned anything(glass/rocks/sand), but you can see it is so clean it still looks almost new.
It has typical FO light with very heavy feeding. These fish are pigs. The rock was dead rock from BRS.
Either I am lucky to never get a single algae spore in the tank or the CP is being an amazing house cleaner. I never got diatoms/hair algae/cyanobacteria/etc in this tank.
It has worked so well, that I almost recommend it just for cycling without the uglies - as long as you don't have wrasses.
[edit] - I'll just point out the CP would have to be completely cleaned out before adding corals in a reef tank.
I recently had been treating with eBay CP and then bought ich shield to treat with again since I noticed my clown tang scratching again. I dosed the ich shield at 40mg/g instead of the 30mg or 8ppm it recommends and did not have good results at all. All fish stopped eating that had been eating and everything I had died, except my 1spot foxface who hasn't eaten in 3 wks and is breathing heavily and has been for weeks. When I tore down my hospital tank I found Amphipods all over my rock that was in the hospital tank. I'm still at a loss for what killed all my fish ( I thought it was too high a dosage of CP, but after finding the Amphipods everywhere I don't think this was the case. I'm at a complete loss
Is it in the same tank/water? How did you remove the old ebay CP before dosing the ich shield?

I've had 10 fish in 3 tanks with Ich Shield at 40 mg/g for the last 3 weeks without issue. I have been doing weekly water changes and dosing the makeup at same level.I recently had been treating with eBay CP and then bought ich shield to treat with again since I noticed my clown tang scratching again.
