Update, the male's claspers have doubled in size in the past several months. They are gone from less than 1 cm to about 2 cm. He appears to be maturing around 25 inches.
Right now they are in a large tub. Actually my basement is full of multiple 300 + gallons stock tanks. I am in the process of putting an addition on my house. I can't mix these sharks with Any of my others so I'm not sure what type of system they will eventually end up in. Maybe with ORVs.
the wobbies, they are doing well though. Growth has slowed and probably around 26 inches.
I lost the female about 3 months ago. I fed her a white perch. I think the dorsal fin punctured the roof of her mouth and she developed an infection. I only feed once a week and she turned down the following meal. SHe was dead the next morning. It did a necropsy and found an ulcer in the roof of her mouth - it had eroded into cartilage.
I'm sorry about this alprazo...These sharks are really special..and this thread is awesome. I hope you replace your female shark as soon as possible and breed this guys.
Four year update. The shark is ~ 36 inches and weighs over 30 lbs. Keep an eye out for him, the BBC contacted me several weeks ago about using the shark for footage in one of their nature shows. After two takes he nailed it. Releases sign. How funny.
They found the shark on YouTube. I did not recognize the name of the show series so I'm not sure it will be shown on this side of the pond. From the correspondence it seemed like they were already in production and just needed some short clips.
I lost my female to an injury after eating a white perch, I guess about two years ago. If anyone knows of a female for sale, please pass on the info. Thanks
beautiful wobbie! sorry to hear about the female.
I would love to see the show! I will check through the BBC application on my TV's Smart Hub. But you are most likely correct in that it wont be played here...
Congrats!
