My tang has bad gas

Kind of a joke, but I have been noticing that my powder blue tang has bubbles as well as feces come out when he poops. I don't notice any of my other fish having this issue.

Anyone seen this before? The fish seems to be healthy, his diet is primarily algaes sheets from ON and two little fishies. He also gets the occasional formula frozen food and mysis when I feed that.

No idea if the bubbles smell, haha.

Any experiences are appreciated.

Haven't seen it with a tang but haven't really kept them. However my Lamark's angel was exactly the same

didn't notice the other fish avoiding it though!

Yeah the Lamark looks exactly as my PBT does. I spent a few seconds brushing / smashing the algae sheets on the clip today and noticed a lot of air bubbles coming out. I'm going to continue doing that to see if it helps alleviate some of these problems. I notice the tang swimming like he is actually having some bouyancy issues sometimes.

Herbivors always seem to be windy due to fermentation at least land based ones do. The swimming problems are a little worrying, maybe try some brine shrimp to flush the system and see if that helps.

bacteria infection ?

like how seahorses build up gas ?

either none of my fish do this, or they are polite enough to go pass the gas behind the rocks lol

my achilles tang though does get constipated often.

I knew this was going to go there, fluffing and farting - love it. The fish eats almost constantly throughout the day, and I think it is likely an issue with air bubbles on the algae sheets he ingests. I am going to make a concerted effort to knock most of the bubbles off the algae sheets after putting them in the tank.

As far as the swimming goes, he gets back to normal after he's "tooted"

Never thought I would find an appropriate topic to post this video I shot diving! lol

no the gas is developed as a reaction of what he is eating, or temp.

no animal gets gas cause it "ate" gas.

we all breathe air, if that was the case, we would all be farting all day long :)
