Myka's 69 SPS Tank 2015

Thank you, I was thinking it is. I new-ish to the sps coral thing but having success so far. I only had it for a week or two. Waiting to see if I can color it up to loop like yours.

Not when you buy smaller containers because the big ones are out of stock.. ;)
I'll get them week after next..
Going to give it a shot.. If I see nothing, I'll go back to IO..

Matt, they got more stock already! You should have waited!

Mine didn't last in my tank. That pic is from my old SPS tank. It faded and slowly STN'd away.

Here's some pics from tonight of new goodies.

Humilis from Coral Master

A maricultured piece. I haven't tried to ID it yet. The tips are actually very bright blue, but my white balance took it out.

This it a frag from a maricultured piece that I'm told looked like an SSC when it came in. I'm interested to see what happens. Everything in my tank is pale, but it's pink with blue tips.

This is a brand new maricultured piece. It has faded quite a bit in the few days I've had it. At the LFS it had lots of pink/salmon in the tips, orange corallites, and green base. I can't wait for it to color up - I think it could be a real stunner.

This is a wild Aussie Acro. I haven't ID'd it. I got half, and Scythanith got the other half - appears to be a tabler. Solid lime green for now - not too exciting.

Maricultured "Wolverine".

Another wild Aussie Acro - tenuis I believe. It arrived at the LFS very pale. I was pretty sure it would RTN on the first night, but it's hanging on. Scythanith has the other half of this one too. The blue that is on the tips is cobalt color, and the center of the corallites is lime green. Lots of polyp extension near the base, but not much at the tips.

I love this coral! The blue is really pretty. Crossing my fingers for you that it holds on!

Very nice. Love the light blue wild one.
Thanks! Been spending too much lately. .. lol
Question, did you ever get the LED strips over this tank, or are you all T5 still?
No, not yet. I've been looking recently though. The whole idea is to get the blue out of the LEDs so I can run more Coral+ bulbs.

Hm.. I haven't been checking because I already bought some.. But it's gone again, anyways..

Nice new fraggage!

Gone already? Damn. I have to order some in the new year.

I sure hope so!

The rocks have a bunch of bacteria on them, as if I was overdosing a carbon source, but I'm not dosing anything except Sponge Power. The rocks have had this bacteria bloom for probably 6 weeks now, and it's getting annoying. The water hasn't been super clear in a long time, and the filter pads feel slimy when I change them out. I'm not sure what's causing, but hopefully it will cycle out soon. I'll dose some CoraL Snow tonight and see if that helps.

A few FTS from just now.

If you look close at the rocks in this pic you can see all the bacteria growth.

Mindy, I'm really liking your scape.
The water looks clear in your shots...
Maybe a water born algea bloom?
I had a good one last year when the tank was very new. Took weeks for it to go away..
But it finally did..

Thanks Matt, I do like the scape too. The right side still isn't quite right, but it's as good as I've been able to achieve with the rocks I have.

The water is more clear now than it has been in several weeks. When it was unclear it was a white colored haze. I'm pretty sure it's bacteria. I'll post a pic tomorrow when the lights are back on.

Diggin the new scape!

Looks like were in the same boat. Been dealing with a huge bac bloom in my main tank for the last week, hoping it doesnt linger like this for too long. Hows the skimming going? It seems mine has started to skim less since the bac bloom.

Thanks! I haven't changed the scape for some time now, but I think it's tricking you guys because I've moved the "loose" rocks around that are on the sand. :p

My skimmer has been chugging along like normal. I have had it very dry skimming for a long time though as I wait for some nutrients to show up. It collects about 1 cup per week of skimmate that looks like the darkest coffee you've seen.

Nice Mindy,
What skimmer are you using ATM? Love the scape, and those are some chunky corals :) Good stuff, looking forward to the New Year, hopefully it brings us all some new found success! Congrats :)

Looks awesome!

Thank you. :)

Thanks Perry. It's coming along. I'm using the old ATB 840 right now. Assuming the BK is probably more efficient, I'm too scared to put it online right now since there is hardly a whiff of nutrients.

Agreed! There are lots of us who've had quite a run for it in the last few months, cheers to new found successes! [emoji481]

Here's a pic of what I'm thinking is a bacteria growth on the rocks:
