Need repair advice

Hi Roger,

My wave box 6212 pump which is a 6260.10 has frozen up. I was previously getting a random clicking sound from the brake. I took it apart and cleaned it real good. It ran for 24 hours then stopped again. Should I send it in for repairs or can I get whatever part you think I need and repair it myself? Thank you!!

You mention the brake... are you using the older multi part impeller or the newer single piece impeller without the retractable brakes?

Unfortunately, there is not much that can be repaired any longer on these older pumps. If it is beyond a mechanical issue that cleaning or a new drive unit will repair, the only option will be an upgrade to the 6215 pump which runs about $270 for the complete upgrade kit of pump, power supply and new foam pan. You are welcome to send it in, but if you are positive the drive unit is not seized and everything is clean, it may be better to just order the new pump kit.

No loss in sending it in I guess. It's on the way. It is trying to run I can feel it. The good news is I have a newer 6215 replacement pump that I picked up the last time I had an issue. Thanks!!

Nope, you toss, the impeller, front housing, motor, transformer, sponge and basically just keep the box and controller, this replaces all the major mechanical and electrical parts.
