New AquaController 3/3 Pro Firmware

Glad to hear it; feel free to send back ideas for new features that you would like to see; I'm bulding a list...

I just realized you wrote the software on that link, ok I'm a little slow

very cool, would like to see a real control center, able to see everything with video IP cameras, control everything like you were there, sophisticated alarms to warn before disaster strikes, that's not asking for much is it? :p

Curt showed me how to turn off DHCP on an Airport Extreme. Thanks Curt.

Here it is:

Goto: Internet->Internet Connection
At the very bottom under "Connection Sharing", select "off (Bridge Mode)"

Then click update.

Remember to set it back to "Share a public IP Address" when you're done updating the firmware.

RussM, I'm looking at the iPhone app. The DO value is there on the right, but no label on the left hand side.

Also, does anyone know why my probe names changed in my program when I updated the firmware? Do I have to leave the probe names with the new names? What are the conventions for naming/referring to your probes in the programming language? Thanks.

I have had 3.4 running for quite some time and just referred to the graphs, only to find out that they dont work for some reason.

What is my course of action to correct this.

thanks for any help

it should be logging for quite some time and i am running the latest flash (i believe)

I have been trying to update my software to 3.4 on my AC3 with no luck. It keeps saying socket error 10060. Can anyone help me?

10060 means that the AC3loader is getting no response from the controller... usually because of some issue with network communications.

Describe your network, and provide the IP addresses of your PC and the AC3. Also, have you changed the default http port on the AC3?

I'm running 3.4 on 2 AC3's (non-pro). I agree that the new firmware is stable, but I've still been experiencing quirks (random 1 second alarm activations sending e-mails to my phone at the same time of day, but sporadic on days that it happens). This never happened with 3.3, and nothing was changed in programming or positioning of any devices. The other really weird thing is that I'm getting this on both controllers, but from completely different sources. On my main tank, it's from my low water level switch, and happens sometime within 10 minutes of the 2nd MH turning on. On the frag tank it happens when MH1 comes on, the heater turns on for about 8 seconds, and the alarm comes on for 4 seconds during that time. Fairly annoying, but at least it's during times I am always awake.

i have the exact symptoms with the alarm. its actually identical problem .

Exactly the reason why I flashed two Pro's back to 3.3 Just too many little odd things occurring.

I haven't seen this addressed by Neptune. I'd like to upgrade, but it would be nice to see this fixed first.

Thanks.

I guess that means I'll keep running my current version ... thanks to everyone who didn't respond on that one.

I guess Apex is getting all of the attention....

have we fixed all the bugs on this? or has everyone either upgraded to apex or just gone back to the previous version?

I had this problem and posted a fix for it a few pages back in the thread.

I had to stop the aquanotes service on my local PC then everything worked fine.

v3.40 has been out as a public release since August or so last year; I am unaware of any lingering issues.

Other than the phantom alarms and lights and other things randomly turning on/off for no reason that some of us are still dealing with...

YAH I just learned something new thank you I always wandered how you do that:dance:

I only know that one because my wife is a Tech. Document editor.

Hmm... I don't recall seeing any mention of that in many months. Have you contacted Curt directly about the issues?

Yes, I have. We've e-mailed back and forth and have minimized the problem, but I still get 1-2 false alarms from a triggered "low sump" alarm (always between 11:30 and 11:45 AM thankfully) when MH2 turns on. I've plugged both DC8's into surge protectors, and that helped a bit. In addition, I have moved everything I can think of away from the ballast to try to eliminate inductive load causing issues. Still not completely fixed though. I don't get an alarm from this, but, occasionally my air pump (sweetwater 40) for my skimmer will turn off even though the AC3 shows it is on, do manual off then manual on, it turns back on and then back to auto and it does as it should again for a few days (does come back on on its own eventually as well. And no, it's not an overheat issue - the outlet is physically OFF even if I unplug the skimmer and plug something else in). I've plugged both DC8's into surge protectors, and that helped a bit as well.

In fact, I just got a false while I was typing this up to post. They come through showing alarm off, pH, ORP and Temp all within spec, go to the XML for outlets, and I see a 1 second activation of the low sump switch which triggers the alarm for 1 second (long enough to send me the text to tell me everything is wonderful - have a nice day).

Others have still been seeing similar stuff , here's a post from just a week or two back Although, he continued to see falses even after reverting to 3.3...so maybe not a firmware issue per se. I've never flashed back to 3.3 as I like some of the features of 3.4, and I use Ken's tank manager for checking on things when out of town. Since it's not a major issue, I just chose to live with it.

It took me a while (lots of failed attempts) to get the firmware and webpages loaded, but I was finally successful this weekend so I thought I would post in case anyone else is having same problems.

As I said, I had tried updating the firmware a number of times and always failed due to a couple of different socket errors. I would give up then try again a month or two later. It turns out to be a quirk with the AC3Pro and my IP address. The controller uses IP address ending in '050'. For some odd reason I remembered Saturday that way back when I had trouble connecting to the internet when it was set up as 192.169.101.50 but everything worked fine when I changed the ending to three digits.

Well, wouldn't you know, I found the firmware upgrade worked perfectly when I changed the ACloader to the same three digits. Partial success seemed like a victory. But it took a while to get the web pages to update. After doing a lot of searching on the form, I decided to try the IP address again. The webpages updated perfectly once I changed the IP address back to 192.168.101.50 instead of '050'.

Took a while but I am finally a happy camper.
